Next up in our series is the President of the Portland Trail Blazers, Mr Chris McGowan. Have a question for Mr McGowan? Post it here!
In March of 2012 Sports Business Journal named you to their “Forty Under 40” list. Now that you are over 40, are you a man? And, if so, can I come after you?
When the blazers win the championship what kind of free shit do we get during the parade/riot? Can we hang Scott foster in the rose quarter?
Why are the Trail Blazers opposed to building a MLB stadium near the Rose Quarter? How many discussions have been had with the city and private enterprises to fully develop the area surrounding the Rose Quarter into a commercial retail park (i.e. Bridgeport Village or Tannesbourne Plaza)?
I might be able to answer that one a little bit as it came up in a Q&A back when Steve Patterson was GM with a small group of us that were on the Blazer Advisory Board. It's not that there aren't enough hotels. It's that the NBA wants a large, 5-star type hotel where a majority of media, tourists, outside fans etc can stay in one location close to the event. There are events outside of the All-Star festivities that sponsors want upscale convention space for without people having to travel in from other hotels. Currently, there are plenty of hotels but they are not of the caliber the NBA wants for an event like that or they are too small and/or not close enough to the Rose Garden. Hope that helps.
Why does Piss beer cost $2 a fluid ounce and decent beer $4 per fluid ounce? Why is the only thing ridiculous about rice's ridiculous deal the ridiculously high price? How much wood could mo chuck chuck if mo chuck could chuck wood?
When looking at ways to try and enhance the experience of fans in the arena do you favor the the route that Sacramento is going where they are trying to enhance the gaming experience with technology use, mainly in getting more access to the game via your cellphone from inside the arena or the Mark Cuban route where he wants everything and everyone focused on the game at hand and not encouraged to look away from the live action and onto a mobile device?
