Fine, your answer suggests that sexual orientation is determined at birth. Relevant. Just because YOU claim you were born heterosexual doesn't mean it is true for every human being. In fact, it's not.

Do you see checkboxes in the upper right of each post?

And just because gays claim they were born gay doesn't make it true..........or FACT! They have there beliefs I have mine. I base my beliefs on what happened with my close friend growing up & the CHOICE (his words) that he made when he was in his early 30s. And by what a few other gay friends have told me over the years.

Now, about that checkbox in the upper right of each post, what are you talking about? Can I delete a post or an entire thread? If I can please explain how.

He came out in his 30s. He hid his true nature for fear of losing his job, pissing off his parents, religious figures assuring him he can be "cured" and so on. Speaking of religious figures, quite a few seem to be pedophiles and attracted to little boys. Church didn't cure shit.

Do you see a little square, upper right in the blue part, next to the post #?

Newsflash Father Flanagan, When we played ball together & double dated he wasn't working so much for fear of losing his job. He wasn't raised religious so so much for being cured by god. And I think I knew my friend a little better then you did. And like I said which you may have missed, I also had OTHER gay friends tell me that they also made the CHOICE. So sermons over.

About the blue box, yes I see it, so can I delete a post, a thread, only threads I create or alll of the above? And again, if I can send me a private message to tell me how.

In case you have an open mind, Rick:

    http://www.outofthecloset.com.

    Read it.

For the record, I'm not a progressive liberal democrat.

I'm more of a Tea Party kind of guy, without the religious stuff.

I don't vote for republicans or Democrats. Ron Paul was my guy.

I hope you stick around and talk baseball, or find one of our other forums to your liking.

I hope this proves what people post here isn't the official policy of the site.

I do have an open mind & I did read the entire thing even though the only part I really NEEDED to read was the heading. You know the part that said.... ONE young man's letter. I repeat.....ONE (1)

Hard as it is to believe, being born gay or straight has NEVER been proven. All we as humans do know for sure is that we are born with the ability given to us by God that we were made with a heart & a mind to think, to feel & (now pay attention here because it may be hard for you to comprehend).... to make choices & decisions. Not really that hard to follow.

That one man's experience is the same experience for almost all gay people who feel the need to hide their preference. Like I said, there are a number of reasons they're afraid to go public.

For certain, there are gay athletes, and have been all along. Rock Hudson was gay, died of AIDS. An athlete might fear his teammates would bully him or worse. Hudson was a sex symbol that women swooned over. His career would have turned to shit if he came out. I'm sure his friends knew, though, and kept his secret.

I knew a guy for over ten years before he told me he was gay. He thought I'd reject his friendship because I am rather conservative. It didn't phase me one bit. I liked him fine before I knew, and he's still the same friend I always had after I knew.

In your case, I can see your friends not wanting to be open with you. In your one case, until 30.

The thing about my friend is I wasn't pissed he was gay, but that he lied to me about it for 10+ years.

Too many good people are living that lie for no actual good reason. That's why it is big news about the football player or the former Nets center. If they are accepted, as they should be, more people won't have to live the lie.

I assure you that if you used a public shower, you showered with gay guys. You weren't harmed by it, and it really wouldn't matter if you knew. They didn't rape you or whatever it is you fear. They're as normal as anyone else, in reality.

It's also pretty damn hilarious when we talk about this stuff in the vein of, like, people being afraid of catching "teh gay" [sic] or the players not being able to control their urges. Like, really, we never worry about the heterosexuals controlling their desires (why not, by the way? Antonio Cromartie and Travis Henry have had their, ahem, exploits before) but, what, Michael Sam is going to be completely aroused in the locker room? Are some of these people serious?

I moderate the /r/espnyankees board over on reddit. I posted with 59 over on the ESPN board for years. He's a handful. Someone over there linked this thread to me in PM. LOL - That good sir was about as good of a board shellacking as I've seen in a good while... Kudos are in order. I invited 59 to come over and post with us, but he declined the invitation. Now he posts here - and it seems like you are handling things AOK.

And you felt the need to stand on this pedestal & preach gay awareness to me........WHY? And you have the audacity to insult me with your comments saying, "In your case I can see your friends not wanting to be open with you". You sanctimonious pompous ass, who the fuck are you pretending to act like you know me. I loved that man like a brother, both before and after he made his choice in life. And you may even be shocked to know that when he died several years ago from aids I embraced his friends, family & his loved ones. So save your know it all bullshit attitude for people who actually give a rats ass.

Do me & yourself a favor, delete this entire thread.

I actually had briefly linked this thread in the reddit thread, and then I saw that you didn't want that, so I deleted that post. Glad to see you were able to find your way over here.
