Good pickup Major. As rumors have international league players possibly having to go thru the draft in the next couple of years Yanks need to sign as many of these international players as they can that have talent and cost nothing more than money which the yanks have an abundance of. Still can't believe they got no one from darkish, cespedes, chatman and Puig. Come on Cashman wake up and get out your checkbook.

^^^I just wonder if the Yanx can sign this kid if they'll start him in the minors or let him hang with DJ this year and learn.

Hanging with Jeter I don't think will happen. My feeling is the Yankees will try to get him but the other 6 or 7 teams will prevail. I think the Yanks like him, but don't love him. It could be posturing to.

Problem is, the Yanks rarely posture. This is my greatest frustration with this organization. They should be able to influence outcomes much more significantly across all MLB. Its not just the business deals you do, its also the deals you don't, yet still influence.

I'd like to believe they have been more strategic, I'm just not seeing it. I have always had the impression that the Boss' genius was he surrounded himself with good business strategy guys and he had the guts to pull the trigger. Cashman is no Gene Michael.

Sorry...didn't want to threadjack. Is this kid even MLB ready?

...to me, that's always been a smart and simply business formula,... surround yourself with people with talent, and let them do their job.

...and I've read mixed reviews on Diaz.

With these International stars, not everyone gets the scouting that Tanaka had. From what I have read and seen on video, the kid has talent but is not ready for the show. AAA and let him sink or swim.
