So apparently we can't joke around with fellow posters unless we include Sly?

    Do you feel left out?
Were you ignored on the grade school play ground?
Do you not have any hand in your real life relationship?

There was literally no reason to edit my post to Maxie. We were obviously joking with each other, but after 2 or three each you felt the need to insert your name for his when I called him a whore. You didn't remove the word whore, you didn't overreact and suspend me, you just inserted your name for his, so our playing around stopped making sense, stopped being fun, and finally, stopped. God forbid we have some fun here. Let's all get back to arguing with each other about the teams season. Is that really what the forum mods want?

    Please stop micromanaging.

I agree while my _amian Lillar_ thread was silly people were starting to have fun with it and we came up with some great nicknames for the team.

    Damian O. Lillar_
    Robin Tiƫsto Lopez
    Nic B*TOmD
and we were still working on M_ or F$%^ Mo

The boards have become a little stagnant and while I am willing to come up with another brilliant trade that only I seem to appreciate so that everyone can make fun of me again. My pride would prefer I do something else.

    Official Site Rules for SportsTwo

SportsTwo is intended to be a fun community. Keep this in mind, as all of our rules are geared toward making it this way.

All posters with honorable intentions are welcome.
This is a big site with a lot of members. You may not like every one of them. However, we expect everyone to at least respect each other.
Respect the moderators, global moderators, producers, commissioners, admins, and other staff members of SportsTwo.
Flame wars are not allowed. We do tolerate poking fun of one another in good fun, but hateful posts towards another poster are not allowed.
Trash talk is allowed. It's one thing to call Portland's NBA team the "Jailblazers" and another to call their fans idiots. The former is allowed, the latter is not.
SportsTwo is to be a work-friendly and family-friendly site. While there is no blanket rule on how to enforce this, it is completely the discretion of SportsTwo staff to enforce this rule and how to enforce it.
Everyone is here to offer their opinions, so be prepared to have people disagree with your opinions. There is a difference between attacking someone's post (their opinion) and attacking the poster with the latter not allowed. The staff is here to monitor for such occurrences.
Users who have multiple accounts will be publicly identified.
We can't anticipate all of the things the staff may find unacceptable. Again, it is completely the discretion of SportsTwo staff to enforce any unwritten policies they deem fit, and you are expected to abide by these judgments.
The staff is here to be of service any way we can. If you have questions or need help with anything, feel free to PM a mod, GM, Producer, Commissioner, or an Admin.
We reserve the right to amend these rules at any time.

The constant whining about the moderation of this board is getting out of control. I could probably find some reference to poor moderating in any thread that goes over four or five pages.

I can agree with that as a 3rd party. The thing is, if I had an issue, I wouldn't see it as me whining so I understand why those who are whining don't see it as that either.

But it's people complaining about biased moderation, when their expectations are completely absurd. We can't be everywhere all the time. We aren't omnipotent and omnipresent.

Someone will post a personal attack at 4am and then another person will start raging about how, "that person can post personal attacks but so and so got banned!?!?" This has actually happened multiple times. Dude..... it was posted at 4 am. Nobody saw it until 6:30 or 7 when we are actually awake.

Sly said you have the 4 am shift. You failed again!

It is a thankless job. This may sound harsh but it comes with the territory. Deal with it or move on.

Luckily it is a VERY small minority. Overall this board is easy.

    No, not at all.
LOL. Nah, I was always playing sports or figuring out ways to piss off the teachers and nuns.

No, my relationship with my gf is pretty damn good. I think we're in that comfortable shoe period. Instead of spending a bunch of money on each other for Valentines Day we went out and bought a 60" Samsung 3D TV.

We have a strict no personal insult rule here in the forum. It's a rule that I take very seriously because I think when allowed to go unchecked it can destroy forums. To be perfectly honest, yes, I felt pretty confident that you and Maxie were kidding around. But I edited the posts anyway. One of the biggest reasons I edited those posts was because of previously complaints and accusations you've made against me as a moderator. In the past when I've left some insults, ones that were just a couple of people joking around and then stepped in and edited others you've made very public accusations of me not being fair, playing favorites and being inconsistent in how I moderate. And in taking a honest look at what you were saying I would have to say I agree with you. If you're going to have a no personal insult rule you can't leave some and edit or delete others.

You have been the loudest voice in this forum for consistent, black and white moderation. If I edit or delete one personal insult I must delete all of them. That is a standard that you have publicly demanded in the past. And again, I have to admit you're right in that. It's not fair to allow some insults or to try and read intent in a insult. If we were to add a just joking clause to the personal insult rule then everyone is going to claim that they're just joking. It's your previous complaints about my moderating that helped me to see this.

Edit vs delete: 90% of the time I edit a personal insult instead of delete them because sometimes people need to vent. I understand that. But also it's a lighthearted and fun way to remind everyone else reading the thread that personal insults aren't allowed. Also I've learned that people tend to get really pissed off when their post is deleted. They only get a little pissed off when I edit their insult to be directed at me.
You're right, I've been totally micromanaging this forum lately but not in the way you think. After the BlazerFanatic banning and reading the recent complaints and concerns that many long time members have expressed in here I've taken upon myself to try and make this forum more fun and getting it back to talking about basketball.

Here is what I've been doing to try and make this forum better:

Bugging the shit out of the Blazers, lol. Seriously, you'd be surprised at the number of emails I've been sending to the Blazers lately. But here is what I'm getting for the forum from them.

Player interviews! We now are getting access to players. We get to ask them questions and the answers to those are getting posted in here.

Those questions and answers are getting published in the game programs. Yes, things that we say and ask are now getting published for 19,000+ fans to see.

Blazer swag! We just gave away a game worn player warmup! I'm working to get more giveaways for the forum.

We are now included in the weekly reporter round table of questions and discussions on the Blazers website.

There were some questions and complaints about recent changes in how the Blazers and Moda center operate so I reached out and we now have a thread where we can ask the President of the Blazers anything we want.

I'm also trying to get the use of a skybox for 1 or 2 games this season for the forum and while it's only 80% certain it looks like we're going to have playoff tickets to giveaway in the forum this year.

Last Sunday I drove around the Portland metro area delivering tickets to the winners of the prediction contest.

I'm doing whatever I can of think of to get this forum unique and original opportunities and access. Things that no other Blazer forum has or does. To make this forum more fun and more about Blazer basketball.

Sly does a great, albeit thankless, job. If people here would just talk basketball and leave the personal crap out, his job would be a lot easier.
