http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/dailydime?pa...stonPreview0607 Out of 10 analysts, only 2 thinks we will make the playoffs. But when I say "a lot of different opinions" in the title, it's because our rankings go from 4th in the East to dead last, according to these guys: Greg Anthony's Celtics Prediction Division Rank: 3rd Conference Rank: 9th Chris Broussard Division Rank: 3rd Conference Rank: 10th Ric Bucher Division Rank: 2nd Conference Rank: 10th Chad Ford Division Rank: 2nd Conference Rank: 10th John Hollinger Division Rank: 1st Conference Rank: 4th Wow... we can only hope, right? Scoop Jackson Division Rank: 5th (dead last) Conference Rank: 15th (dead last) If this happens both Danny Ainge and Doc Rivers should be fired, honestly. Tim Legler Division Rank: 2nd Conference Rank: 8th Legler read my mind, these were my predictions as well. Jim O'Brien Division Rank: 2nd Conference Rank: 9th Good old OB Chris Sheridan Division Rank: 4th Conference Rank: 13th If this happens, at least one of Doc or Danny should get the axe. Marc Stein Division Rank: 3rd Conference Rank: 9th Overall Average From These 10 Analysts Division Rank: 2.7 Conference Rank: 9.7 According to these guys, on average, we should come in 2nd or 3rd in the Atlantic Division, then 9th or 10th in the Eastern Conference. I really hope we can get over than hump and make the playoffs. But like I stated in italics above, if we come in 4th-5th in the division and 13th-15th in the East, I want AT LEAST one of Doc/Danny fired if we come in 12th-13th in the East, and BOTH of we come in last. Doc Rivers is not a great coach, and Danny Ainge always has you asking yourself: "What the hell is Danny Ainge doing in Boston?" - Stephen A. Smith even said it on Quite Frankly last night, and I can't blame him. You can't have veterans like Pierce/Wally/Ratliff on an incredibly young/rebuilding team - they aren't going to win games. I don't know guys, we'll see.
They talk about Telfair like hes the main option of our team, only Jim O'Brien mentioned Ryan Gomes being a good player. That was a bunch of BS, I agree with some of their predictions but their reasoning for putting them there was pretty dumb. Scoop Jackson's theory, Bird Mchale and Parish need to walk back through the door? C'mon, these guys are supposed to be professionals.
God, who would honestly say that the celtics are the WORST team in the east? how ridiculous is that? Scoop Jackson is an idiot. A lot of people are sleeping on this team. hopefully john hollinger is right.

He doesn't have a history of being right... at all. I mean it's great to be optimistic, but you have to stay realistic at the same time. Unless Danny pulls a magical trade for a star (not happening, IMO) we won't get any higher than 7th seed, and even that is basically best-case scenerio.

I wasn't suggesting that, I was just saying. New Jersey still owns this division with no problems, IMO. I mean unless Jason Kidd dies and Vince Carter breaks his neck, they got it.

They are all pretty close except that idiot Scoop Jackson. he has to be the worst basketball analyst on TV. My personal opinion is that the Celtics will be 7th or 8th seed. Too many people underestimate Paul Pierces ability to lead this team into the playoffs.

Orlando is going to put up a great fight, plus you can't ignore Milwaukee. Plus, who knows, maybe New York/Philly/Toronto surprises? Bottom line, outside of the top 5 seeds, the Eastern Conference is pretty much a question mark as far as seeding goes. It's going to be a great race.
