So apparently we can't joke around with fellow posters unless we include Sly?

If personal insults are forbidden, no exceptions, then I guess Denny will have to un-name a certain emoticon he uses in a feeble attempt to insult me.

Since it's his board, and his rules, all we can be expected to do is follow his lead.

go ahead and make fun of my mother. She's in her 70's and I'm fairly certain her response would be "why do I care what some idiots on the web say about me? I got much bigger fish to fry then to worry about what those losers think"

Ok, so she wouldn't say it like that, but it's pretty much what she'd feel.

Welcome to society. Ones actions will often lead to others making judgments and to being treated different because of those actions.

Also, I understand profiling as drawing conclusions about someone based on race, ethnicity or other generic trait they share with others. Treating someone different because of what they specifically have done in the past is not profiling.

Why isn't this in the OT section, or at least labeled as OT: in the thread title? Do we really need threads whining about non-basketball related topics cluttering up the main forum?

If you guys wouldn't keep posting in the thread it would be at the bottom of the page by now. There has only been 2 posts in this since 9am. Guess who made them?

Nothing wrong with the thread in my view, but it is OT in nature. He's right about that.

My thread about complimenting players pales in comparison to Fire Stotts or trade Damian for Conley threads. I've come to accept the nature of things.

    Serious answer:

I usually move threads like this to the OT section after the majority of members have seen them. Threads that have concerns about how the board is run IMO should be on the main page. If I were to move threads like this to the OT section there would be some members who wouldn't see it. It's best to have these discussions out in the open and give everyone a chance to express their opinion.
