I didn't follow the show when it was on the air. We binge watched it on Netflix. We thought it ended with the DEA guy realized his brother in law was Heisenberg. The book he found while sitting on the toilet. So I get an email from Netflix today saying they just added the final 8 episodes. What? Turns out they did 8 shows of season 5, last one shown like October of 2012. Then a year later did 8 more episodes, first aired in like August 2013. If you didn't know about these episodes, you do now. They are. In fact, on Netflix.
The final 8 of Breaking Bad is how TV is supposed to be. Denny, you're going to want to binge watch them, so wait until you and the missus have an entire day. Sly, I started House of Cards a few weeks ago, and it's as good as you advertised. I'm on S1:Ep11 now. I saw your spoiler thread, and have been trying to catch up, but with kids running around, it's not exactly a kid-friendly show.
House of Cards is great! It will be fun to see what Denny says about it when he discovers it 3 years from now.
I had found out a couple days ago that the last half of season 5 was coming on Monday... I watched 6 of them straight through... The finale... the very last scene (no spoiler) left a little to be desired... I wanted just a couple more scenes. Overall, I think we won't see that capitvating of a show again. That had it all. It was a phenomonal show. House of cards is AMAZING. Binge watched season 2 last weekend... sooo good. And there's already a season 3 in the works, so that makes me feel better. Next up: OITNB on June 6th. Can't wait. Netflix is the new way to watch tv. I can wait these long periods if that means I don't have to watch commercials.
Mods, please put a spoiler tag on Stenuus' post. I read it until he mentioned House of Cards, which has nothing to do with this thread.
Half the thread is talking about house of cards (including you), and there's no spoiler on any of my post. Edit: unless you meant the season 3 mention... which was announced even before the season 2 release date.
BB doubled their audience by splitting the final season. Everyone (but you I guess, Den) got caught up and started watching it as it aired from episode nine onward.
I didn't follow the show when it was on. The last episode of 2012 could have easily been the series finale. They wrapped up all the loose ends and Heisenberg getting found out was a pretty good punch line. If I could be ignorant about the additional shows, maybe others were too. Plus it's awesome to talk about. The year split between halves of the final season is odd. On one hand, 8 shows isn't a full season. On the other, they could have called the 2013 shows, "Season Six."
Yeah, I don't get the japanese anime either. Not my thing. Back on topic, gonna re-watch the whole show (Breaking Bad) and see if I missed anything. It's been about 10 months since I watched season 1-4.
