The bigger court will never fly. The teams would have to remove too many high dollar seats.

I would not mind a four point line. maybe they could just have it in play at the 4th qtr? I would like to see them higher the rim from 10 feet to where I believe is use to be 12 feet? Oh and I hate that you can save the ball out of bounds off another player. I think if a player is going to save the ball out of bounds he should have to throw it up in the air. Kind of like a jump ball. If a player thorws the ball to far and out of bounds thats his fault and they loose possession. To me saving the ball off another player is a cheap way to get the ball back and I don't like it!

Well fuck it, let's just stop playing basketball and make it HORSE. Really NBA? Tell me you're not serious.

I have a better idea, lets raise the basket to 15 ft. so no one can dunk - or lower it to 8 ft. so everybody can.

The 3 point shot has ruined fundamentally sound basketball as we knew it. What would a 4 pt shot do???

As to a longer court, I'd rather see the elimination of zone defenses and clamp down on restricting player movement

The lower the hoop gets, More players can showboat and that means the NBA can put on a better show. Higher it back to 12 feet.

This is not a new debate. For most of the sports, the players have grown bigger/faster/stronger so the court or field is "too small."

Guys didn't dunk when it was peach baskets nailed to the wall.

The argument goes they should make the football field wider, ice rink bigger, bball court wider and longer plus raise the basket.

It's not like they haven't added the :24 clock, 3pt shot, changed hand check rules, instant replay, zone defense, flopping, etc.

If they did raise the basket, dunks would be more rare and have more value, perhaps.

Baseball is the only major sport where the field is still ideal. A stolen base is a close play, it's a chance at the plate on sac flies, 105 MPH is an elite pitch, etc. they did lower the mound in the 60s and instituted the DH and inter league play.

    No game is that static.

Or maybe the NBA could do something like just putting the 4 point shot in the last 2 minutes of each qtr.

Can you imagine the first few years of the NBA if they raised the hoop?

Talk about some ugly ass games. Everyones shot would be horrible

Scoring a basket might be really important. Like scoring a goal in hockey.

I would stop watching the NBA if they created a 4 point line. The sport is growing in popularity and no need for a gimmick like 4 point line. This will not happen any time soon.

Raising the hoop is a fucking awful idea. Just go watch the WNBA if that's essentially what you want to see. Fundamentally sound players shooting ugly jumpers and ugly layups. Fuck that.

As for a 4 point line, I don't think there should be an actual line, but do think that beyond half court should be 4.
