Saw this. Question.....July trade deadline comes around and the Rockies are looking to deal this year. You have a HOF SS on a victory tour, do you pulll trigger and secure the SS position now or pass and take your chances after the season during FA?

You pull the trigger. It's not everyday you can add a player like him for essentially only money.

And then manage the ego's later? I can't imagine Jeter would oppose this. Has he ever played anything other than SS in the minors or majors...doesn't look like it.

Could be a tough call that depends on how the season flows. Ryan is a capable defensive backup, most Yankee fans are pulling for a finish with flourish with Jeter. Tulo to the Yanks if could be done would secure the future. Going to be interesting.

Of course he'd have to give up wearing the jersey number, lol!

Yankee numbers are getting harder and harder to come by. Not even the old fashion way of buying a number is open with the Yankees.

Highly improbable, more likely impossible but I'd sure like to see the Yankees get Iglesias from Detroit, was really impressed with the way he played ball last season.

In a video blog at ESPN.com, Jim Bowden addresses rumors surrounding Troy Tulowitzki and the Yankees, noting that the Rockies star won't be traded to New York to replace Derek Jeter no matter how much talk of the possibility surfaces. Bowden says that Rockies president Dan O'Dowd has told him repeatedly that Tulo won't be traded.

From MLBTradeRumors.....methinks he doth protest too much.
