Zipay twitter: "AV: Arniel, Gorton saw Miller in AHL Friday and said he was best player on ice"

Im not sure there will be a spot for him this year after Zucc gets back, but this kid is going to make the team next year and probably will never see the AHL again. This may actually add an interesting dynamic to the Callahan discussions. Dump has said it before, but JT may develop into a Callahan-type of player but with more size. Yes his ideal spot is C and not the wing, but he won't be asking for 7m for a long time. One of things teams have to do in a salary-cap league is find young, cheap guys who can fill the roles of more expensive veterans. Not saying JT is even close to that right now, but he could be at some point.

I thought a better compariable would be dubi, and hopefully he wont get jerked around playing center then thrown to wing for the sake of the team

yea i think Dubi is a good comp. Either way, looks like he can become a solid member of this team for the long term. Looking forward to seeing what he develops into. We'll still lack that top line forward, however.

Miller just needs to get a little more instinctive but right now he'd probably give you close or more of what Callahan has been this year.

I don't think Miller will give you what Cally has right now, but bigger picture, within 2 years (if not next season), I think he can.

If Miller could just put the puck in the net a little more right now. But he's quicker and bigger so it's not a big drop if any.

That's a HUGE if. He cannot score right now, at least up to this point. He will get better there for sure, but Miller is not Cally right now. Let's not go too far on Cally. He is clearly better than Miller right now, which is to be expected since Miller is just starting out.

Big picture/long term I agree Miller could be Cally or better for sure.
