Stockton is a family man. He's coaching his kids right now. And remarkably, he's not even the head coach. It's an old school cat. I refereed his daughter at a camp at Gonzaga.
I don't believe it was a matter of reaching out to them. Hornacek had been employed by Utah when he took the Phoenix job. He started out as a part time shooting coach for the Jazz . When Phoenix came calling he had been a full time assistant with Utah. Bad timing for the Jazz IMO
Yah let him get fired on his own not because some award made people think he was an elite coach ready to lead the team to a title.
