What's the deal with him? Is he just going to eventually be waived or is he going to try to contribute? His knees are ravaged and he's definately not even close to being a contributor.....Anyone got any news on Grant?
Yeah I have some info. The Celtics are going to make their final cuts by 6:00 pm tonight. The candidates for the final two spots are Allan Ray, Michael Olowokandi, Luke Jackson, and Brian Grant. Now, the only way Ainge would bring in Grant over Kandi-Man is if he has a future trade in store. Even if Ainge does decide to hold on to Grant, it would only be for contract reasons (salary matcher in a trade), but he would spend the whole year on the IR list. I mean he's basically retired, he hasn't done anything with the Celtics this summer. He hasn't worked out, he didn't go to training camp, and he wasn't on the preseason roster. He's bascially retired. So, if indeed Ainge does decide to keep Brian Grant, it's only for contract reasons for a salary matcher in a future trade. Other than that I would fully expect Ainge to rid of Grant and keep O, especially due to our lack of center depth with Theo being out all the time. If I had to take a guess, Ainge is not going to keep Grant around. I think he will make the smart move and keep O for big man depth. Not to mention, he has been playing excellent ball in preseason.
in one lithuanian nba website I red that grant have been retired its the same sh*t like we had a few years earlear when we got r.fox and he retired at the same season
