I always loved watching this kid in college and in the games I've seen him in the pre-season he hasn't looked to bad. He's a point guard that isn't out there to get stats, he moves the ball around very well and he's always looking for the open man. He's also extremely quick and he's grabbed some rebounds in the pre-season as well. Does he have a chance of making the team? With Jay Will out for a while, Quinn might be a cheap and potentially nice guy coming off the bench. Any Heat Fans think he's got a chance?
I watched him the other day on ESPN vs. Houston, and he he looked alright. He's quick and solid looking ballhandler. 1. Shaq 2. Wade 3. Toine 4. Zo 5. Haslem 6. GP 7. Posey 8. J-Will 9. Simien 10. Wright 11. Doleac 12. Barron 13. Kapono The final 2 spots are up for grabs between Quinn, Hite, and Grier. I think he definitely has a decent shot at making the team. I think Robert Hite is going to make the team, Riley really likes him and he's been playing pretty solid in preseason. The last spot is between Qunn and Grier. EDIT: Am I forgetting a player?
He played very decently vs. Chicago. Hopefully Riley plays him enough when we have a big enough lead or down by enough so he can devolop into a better player so he knows what to do in key situations.
The Heat were pretty poor last night. I know, I know, there are 81 games still left to play; but take this into consideration: D-Wade has FIVE turnovers in the first half..he was forcing passes across the court, throwing up wild alley-oops to Shaquille O'Neal when O'Neal was around two defenders..that one just bounced off the backboard into the Bulls' hands.Their transition defense was pretty late..they [the Bulls] were sliding and gliding around the court passing..slicing and dicing the Heat defense with the Duhon jumpers. Hinrich helped out alot in the first half to that. Tyrus Thomas looked great in the opener. The kid is going to be something special one day if he keeps playing like that.I'm sure the Heat will bounce back against the Nets, Friday night, but this game isn't a good note to keep looking upon. The biggest player that I think needs to get onto the practice court more is Antoine Walker; he was awful.Quick Quinn Thought: He looks like he could make this team if he continues working for it. He played with alot of speed and intensity on his passing last night..hopefully we play better Friday night, and we get a better look at how he can play.
^ Well he obviously already made the team. I saw him as a lock all along anyway with Jason Williams out for a while with his knee and an old GP, we were desperate for a backup point guard. Unfortunately though, I don't see him developing into anything better than a solid, maybe third stringer. He's really no quicker than the average point guard, his shot is nothing amazing, but what really hurts him is his lack of size and horrible defense.
I liked Quinn out there. He played with intensity, and he's got some good overal skills. He didn't try to rush and didn't try to force anything. He made good solid passes, kept the ball under control, and did his job.I heard he can also shoot the 3 ball well, which is good. I see him staying on the this team through the season..
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>I heard he can also shoot the 3 ball well, which is good</div>was a career 42% 3PT shooter in four years at Notre Dame, he can shoot the 3 very well.
He played for Notre Dame so he's a hoosier. So I'm rooting for him. He's really light, and really needs to bulk up. He is not the greatest defender either. But he has a deep shooting range, and, in general, a very nice offensive game.I'm rooting for him, I wish him the best.
