I actually used to like about half of John's work, or at least managed to pay attention to half of it. But he's really become overdone and irrelevant. I mean, as much as we used to hear and talk about his name in the Portland Area, he's really become a mostly forgotten part of sports media here in town. He's going to need to try much harder.
He is NEVER at games.....yet that tool was there early yesterday. Like 4 sitting out on the court trying to be seen. What a tool!
To be honest, I didn't even know Crapzano was still around. I stopped reading/hearing about him a couple of years ago. He's a total non-issue and I'm not surprised Lillard was unaware of him.
Isn't the internet great? We have so many outlets to read about the Blazers now we aren't beholden to tools like Clownzano and Jaynes anymore.

Two games ago vs. Utah he was 11 for 28. That's not great. Just ok. Anyway, either Lillard was being passive aggressive or he really didn't know the name of the columnist/radio host who has stood at his locker, talking with him, asking him questions and interviewing him on radio. Just to be sure, and to put this to rest, I waited on the court before the game vs. Brooklyn tonight, and as the Blazers came out for a closed shoot-around I stood, looked him in the eye, introduced myself, and shook his hand. Lillard laughed. I also introduced myself to Terry Stotts and Nic Batum. No hard feelings? "Naw, we're alright," said Lillard. Just alright, see? Not great.
Between TV, radio and print Lillard probably has 8 to 10 people at his locker after a game. I doubt he knows the names of most of them. Wait, I just asked Casey. It so predictable. Posters were saying he would write an article that was about him as much as it was about the player. True to form he does that . . . while making a plug for his older article and his radio show. The fact he re-posted Lillard's tweet shows he is just soaking up all the attention . . . to the point he has to write an article about himself.
I've been saying that for years. They actually did one better back in the early 2000's. They pulled all of their advertising out of the Oregonian. Hit them in the wallet. It was glorious.
I actually don't see why people don't like Canzano. Yes, you can completly infer that I do like Canzano. You basically have 2 parties. The Blazers are all about "Sunshine and lollypops" and "Feel-good" fluff articles. The Blazers do their best to ignore the elephant in the room if they had any chance to make themselves look better. Canzano (The second party) will not hesitate to call Paul Allen and the Blazers out on some of the garbage stuff they have tried to pull over the years. Anyone remember the Darius Miles suspension and return of the fine money? This market would be completely "Snowed Over" if we didn't have a guy like Canzano in this market. Whether you agree with Canzano or hate him, he does give you another piece to the puzzle about the Blazers that the Blazers themselves won't provide you. I like the Blazers and I like Canzano and while they clearly hate each other, I feel like a more informed fan listening to them both.
I've been boycotting the Oregonian for years. And it is because of their anti-Blazers vendetta and the promoting of shit stirrers and self-important hacks like Canzano and Quick. They can have their business model, which does not include me as a subscriber or reader of their rag. That article was truly pathetic.
Because he's a petty piece of shit troll that likes to push buttons. That's why people don't like him. Did you not read that article? There isn't a single substantive point. He's throwing shit at the wall and hoping it sticks. He wants to rile up the fans because he knows people will jump to defend Lillard. It's the worst kind of journalism. It's not even journalism. It's forum trolling on a professional level.
My favorite part is when he stirs shit up a little too much he points out that he's a columnist, not a journalist. He's allowed to speculate and not follow the normal rules of journalism. How many months was he claiming major sanctions and years of bowl bans by the NCAA against the Ducks? He had no inside knowledge, just threw out doom and gloom scenarios to spin up fans.
