I would add that's Canzano's argument is classic straw man. Nobody thinks Lillard is perfect. We know he has areas he needs to improve (defense) and room to grow as a player and a leader. It's his second year in the league for christ's sake. Why the fuck can't fans be allowed to be happy with a little success? Why the fuck can't fans appreciate and praise Lillard for the talents he does have, and the joy he does give us more nights than not? What the fuck is Canzano's problem exactly? Jealousy? I wish that pencil dick mother fucker would get hit by a bus.
His problem is that he's a one-trick pony, which is to troll. When there's little to troll, he has to grasp for straws. The sad thing is there really is a rich vein of material about which to write. If he were more talented, if he had the stuff of Boswell, Jenkins, Albom, even Kornheiser, he could mine it. Instead, he just has to resort to be a carnival barker; a mixum that has a spot in a newspaper and a voice on the radio. Portland deserves better.
Has even Clownzano given up on bitching about the Comcast channel? That's the one thing he's done that doesn't piss me off.
Poor little Johnny. That mean Lillard took a "passive-aggressive shot" at Johnny. And all Johnny did was belittle Lillard on the radio, on the internet, and in the paper. Someone should tell Johnny's mommy. But I think he'll be OK. Little Johnny proved he is a better man than Lillard when he told everyone that even though that mean Lillard took a passive-aggressive shot at Johnny, Johnny still likes mean old Lillard. Little Johnny showed such great character for writing that. He'll be a great man some day.
What's funny is when we were in the middle of our great start, I heard John on his radio show mentioning how if we were a bigger market, guys would get more attention for what we were doing. That Aldridge deserved more MVP attention, and was basically saying why just because of it being a small market did it have to be that way. Now, when it's the reverse, when a guy is getting tons of attention, it's because we celebrate too much stuff. It's such a joke. What a fucking hack. Maybe if I have time this weekend I'll try to dig up the previous stuff to call him up and ask him about his hypocrisy.
Canzano - the Skip Bayless of Portland. Doesn't remember what he said a week ago, doesn't care what he says today.
Portland fans are giving Lillard too much credit? All star weekend he was being plugged more that what a Canzano hair transplant would look like. Lillard is definitely being hyped as one of the future faces of the NBA by the league. Portland fans should be allowed to enjoy and celebrate that we may potentially have a superstar on our hands. Leave it to the clown to do a song and dance that Blazer fans are too passionate. Let us all hail to John who is above all of us and has a much more realistic and better perspective of the Blazers than us fans who have "small-minded habit in this market of overvaluing our players." We all can't be as big ego . . . I mean as big minded as you John.
I'm not in Portland, and my exposure to Canzano only comes from this forum, so I know very little about his past articles. That being said, being upset with, diminishing a fan base for giving a standing ovation for a guy who all the fans believe can help this team is ludicrous. Other organizations across the country wish their fans were as knowledgeable as Portland fans. It is a joke that being excited for a guy to play basketball somehow makes Portland look bad on a national scale. That was one of the best moments of the season.
The "I'm sorry but its the truth" line from calzano is word for word mixum...how amazing would that be
I don't care if it's true or not, I'm treating it as the truth, since it cements Calzano's troll label.
Lillard embarrassed Canzano, who then felt forced to go and meet Lillard, in order to publicize the meeting and regain his dignity/coolness. Lillard was drafted 20 months ago. He played in Summer League. He played a full season. He won ROY. He played in Summer League again. He played over half a season. He would have played another 10 years before the supposedly leading local sports reporter, Canzano, met him, if not for the tweet.
You call Blazer sales promotion fluff. I call the articles which won him those awards fluff. I want "Just the facts, ma'am" sports articles.
