I thought I start a few threads about this great game. Maybe one or two of them will interest you. For instance..................

As I mentioned in another post a while back, Eddie Murray never hit 40 or more HRs in a single season. BUT...........did you know that 3 others only did it once? and one may surprise you. Frank Robinson, Mel Ott 7 the man many refer to as the greatest hitter ever, Ted Williams.

Staying on topic, 14 of the 25 members never hit as many as 50 HRs in a season. and 4 of the remaining 11 are connected to PEDs.

And lastly on this topic only one of these 25 members never hit 300 in a season. The late Harmon Killibrew. And two other only did it once. Mike Schmidt & Reggie Jackson.

What is "The 500 HR Club".

This exemplifies that the HR (Or power hitting) does not equate to good hitting. To me the stand-up double is the best hit ball.

There was a time when hitting 500 HRs would be an automatic. When I 1st became a fan there were only 4 members (Ruth, Foxx, Williams & Ott) Maybe from this point on they should raise the # for sure induction to 600.
