The Spurs did a similar thing to Stephen Jackson last year, and then signed Tracy McGrady to take his place. I think your conclusion is spot on.

Spurs beat Dallas. Good in that it moves Dallas away from Portland. Bad in that it keeps SAS at 16 losses.

Charlotte played hardball with Gordon. They offered a discounted buyout on his $13 million he makes this year, with the March 1 deadline to get paid on a new team as incentive. He wouldn't give them a discount. Paul Allen doesn't play those games.

Explain a "discounted buyout." A buyout is a buyout.

They wanted him to agree to take less than his contract owed him, with the upside for him being that he would be bought out in time to be able to sign with and play for a playoff team this season.

According to the CBA, you can't renegotiate an existing contract.

What are you talking about? This can of worms would be amazing to witness, though.

He'd only give up what the new team would pay him.

The contract battle around the trade deadline would be epic, if players could alter their contracts.

    LOL

It was about cutting him one day after the deadline. My first theory was that they hate him. My second theory was that they tried unsuccessfully to motivate him to help Jordan save a few bucks.

Starting at 63, I see former Blazers...what's this?

Good to see Juwan Howard will get a contract.

I am surprised Rodrigue Beaubois is out of work. Many Blazer fans wanted to get this guy. Injuries probably took a toll on him.

Telfair actually looked better in some games I watched last year. Surprised he is not on someone's bench.

Tyrus Thomas......can't find a team? One of our better trades

I think Telfair's playing in China. Contracts there end soon so maybe he'll be available.

    Quentin Richardson hasn't retired?

A couple of those guys I wouldn't mind picking up for the playoffs. Dahntay Jones has always had swagger and been a pain the ass for wing scorers.

LeBron has 53 points, 8 of 8 from threes. Poor Charlotte. Same team that gave up 62 to Melo.

It really does seem like Lebron looked at what Durant did in January/February was like "Oh Durant went on a hot streak and you all forgot about me? Guess its time to remind the voters why I'v been the favorite to win the MVP for the last 4 straight years"

LeBron finishes with 61 points. I wish he'd stay in to pass Melo but that's it. Just 61.

Lost in LeBron's big night: Al Jefferson had 38 points and 19 rebounds.
