Is the prerequisite to joining this team to be able to grow a terrible beard, not button your jersey, grow your hair out (if you have hair) and use too much pine tar? This current cast of Sawx is less likable than the Yankee offense.

Gosh, I can't shake the sour grapes after last night.

Let it out, Gods know I did last night. What is funny is that I was thinking the same thing. Boston's version of "The House Of David" baseball team.

Just an idiotic and phony lets be the total opposite of the Yankees image. Somebody should tell them with the hair that this is not the 80s and 90s anymore. Even the hockey players have cut their hair these days.

Anyone remember when all the Oakland A's players had facial hair? I think it was in the 70s

Rollie Fingers (with his waxed old timer mustache) was the poster child of those great early 70s A's teams. Even as early as 68, I remember going to Oakland to see those A's. Dimaggio was the bench coach back then, what a thrill to see Ol Joe on the Bench. Yellow/Gold Vests and pants, with Kelly Green sleeves, two tone hats, and of course those White Cleats, what a throwback. If one's eyes weren't open, they would be quickly just seeing those colors. As well as you said, the rough looking facial hair, scrubby beards, mustaches waxed.

The doubleheader was against the Orioles. Both were just starting to reveal they would be dynasties of team for years to come. Both Robinsons, McNally, Blair, Buford, Davey Johnson, Belanger, (Palmer, Cuellar, Dobson, were soon to come), Boog Powell/ Reggie, Catfish Hunter, Vida Blue, Dobson, Blue Moon Odom, Sal Bando, Campy Campaneris, Rudi, Lacheman catching, Tony LaRussa was a utility INF, tons of other greats. Earl Weaver, with the A's quickly going from Mgrs. Bob Kennedy, Alvin Dark, John McNamara, Dick Williams and back to Al Dark again. As golden a era as any.

I'm still praying for Godzilla the ravage Boston, sort of the revenge of the real green monster.

...ahh, the art of being cool. If you have to pretend to be something you're not, that's not "cool" at all.
