My prediction on what we do.

    Re-sign Cally to a 6 year 36 mill +/- deal.

Make some minor cosmetic move to maybe bolster the bottom 6, or 3rd pair D.

Translation I don't see us doing anything real to help this team. Which means maybe we slip in, maybe we don't, but if we do we'll be done quickly most likely.

I bet they neither deal nor sign him. Theyll haggle with him the rest of the year then maybe watch him walk. Maybe he can move a Dorsett or D.Moore with pickprospect to improve that line.

    I would package Callahan/Stepan for Stastny/McGinn.

71, you are obsessed with dumping Stepan. He's had a bad year. Let it go. He's very young still.

Wonder if Callahan is going the other way in a MSL trade, i would like to see us trade a couple of the 3rd/4th line guys we have get traded for similar upgrades, players who will fit next year. This team is competitive but its too flawed for a SC run unless a significant trade. might as well play this years deadline right and get a guy/guys who fit today and next year at the same time.

Sounds like they are giving up 1st rd pick and 2nd rd pick along with cally. Dont like that they are giving up such high draft picks for 38 year old. The next drafts are supposed to be loaded with high end talent. Yeah I know he can still play but again it is short term deal and does not solve our main issues going forward.

st. louis for cally and 2014 2nd and 2015 1st. Sather is alive and kicking and hopefully not done as wfan reporting that kesler has changed his mind and will agree to come to rangers if traded there. Oh baby, sounds like Sather is AWAKE FOR A DEADLINE. Hopefully more moves to come

Im more excited if the Kesler report is true but i like the trade. It dosent matter that next years draft is good, if your picking at #20 it dosen't matter. At least they have another definate skill player through next year. They still need to get bigger.

Dolan's nose is all over this shit. If they get to the conference finals this year they would give up 1st pick in this draft. Disgusting. This organization is going in cycles.

Step, that pick is going to be mid to high 20's then. Who cares. And don't forget rangers can trade guys like dorsett, strahlman and boyle for picks back yet before 3 today. Rumors flying Sather being plied with coffee and he is ready and raring to go. More deals to come. St. Louis on his way to airport and intends to play tonight. Oh baby!!!!!

mrmel, you don't just throw picks away simply b/c they're later in the 1st rd. Sjkei, MDZ, Kreider and JT Miller were all picked 15-28 in the 1st rd. You may not get Ovechkin's with the 20th pick, but you can def get good NHL players there.

If they make the ECF then the trade is paying off, if not then theyre giving up the 2nd and still have him another year. If they play Boston they still dont have enough but you never know.

I like Callahan but offensively he just doesnt cut it

Its hard to see all the homegrown guys leave...... I remember watching Cally, Dubi, and Artie play in Hartford.
