Often injured and now often traded as well.

define "often", b/c last year he played all season, as did in '11-'12. In '10-11 he missed 20gms but in '09-10 he only missed 6. So from '09 to '13 seasons he played in 267 of 294 games, or over 90% of the games over 4 years.

thank you 31, I was going to look up those exact numbers right now. The guy gets such a bogus rep its unreal. Freak injuries this year, felt really bad for him.

40 goals 2 out of 3 years playing Tortorella hockey. Not easy to do.

He has missed 40 games this season. Not to mention his shoulder injury came at the worst possible time for the Rangers.

thats what happens when you try to make pure goal scorers play like 3rd line grinders. I know it's a guessing game and anything can happen, but a different system might not have worn him down like that

Don't get me wrong. I like Gaborik and think he would fit very well in this system. The Rangers could sign him for a second tour in the summer if they want to. Especially if they plan on buying out Richards and St. Louis is only signed for one more year at a low cap number.

I was hoping for a Gaborik push in FA, but after getting St. Louis I think that money needs to be spent on a scoring forward with some more size and physicality rather than a guy like Gaborik.

They have been looking for that physical winger for a while.
