Battlefield 4 Naval Strike Expansion Coming Late March
The next expansion pack to hit Battlefield 4 puts water-based warfare in the spotlight.

Battlefield 4's third expansion pack adds new weapons, gadgets, four new maps, a vehicle and a new game mode, DICE announced today.

The Naval Strike expansion takes players to the South China Sea in four new multiplayer maps and features the new hovercraft vehicle. Additionally, Naval Strike introduces the Carrier Assault game mode, which is a revamped version of Titan Mode from the 2006 Battlefield 2142.

In Battlefield 2142's Titan Mode, players were tasked with destroying the opposing team’s Titan by controlling Anti-Titan missile silos or boarding the enemy Titan. Naval Strike's Carrier Assault is a “re-imagined" version of this mode, but DICE has promised to release more information soon.

As with previous expansions, Battlefield 4 premium members will receive Naval Strike two weeks earlier than standard players. Though DICE has yet to reveal the release date, it said the expansion would be out sometime in "late March" for Premium members.

Wouldn't it all be the same price separately though? I don't really want the extra controller, but it seems to be the only sure way to get one of these things before Infamous comes out.

    http://www.ign.com/articles/2014/03/04/dices-plan-to-fix-battlefield-4s-online-issues

DICE has fixed several "netcode" issues plaguing Battlefield 4's multiplayer mode, and more updates are on the way for those that still remain.

"We are working on fixing glitches in your immediate interactions with the game world: the way you move and shoot, the feedback when you're hit, and the way other players' actions are shown on your screen," reads an update on the Battlefield 4 blog.

Some issues DICE is fixing or investigating include:

Rubber banding: Players are randomly flung around the map and yanked back to a spot they occupied before.
Kill camera delay: Sometimes the kill cam begins before you receive the last bit of damage, making it look like you died too early.
Not doing damage to your opponent: Happens even when bullets clearly impact the enemy.
Instant death upon sprinting: Catapulting at high speed and colliding with an object, causing death.
DICE also included a list of the issues it has fixed:

Disappearing crosshairs: PC players sometimes lost their crosshairs and hit markers when their enemies deployed gadgets.
Hit impact sounds: Because the sounds did not line up with the number of bullets fired, it felt like death came too quickly.
Kill card shows zero health: The game sometimes showed your killer as having zero health, yet remaining alive.
Broken collision: Some objects couldn't be shot past, even after they were destroyed.
"We want to assure you that we are constantly investigating, or already in the process of updating, all these items and several more that you’ve had concerns with – and that we will continue to do so with your help," DICE said. "Please continue to send us your feedback, and thank you for your continued support."

    http://www.ign.com/articles/2014/03/04/driveclub-release-date-reportedly-leaks

Driveclub may be released on April 9 if a message reportedly tweeted by Evolution Studios is to be believed.

A PlayStation Nation user called 100mph posted a screengrab of the supposed tweet, which was then allegedly deleted.

While tweet reads "Mark your calendars 9.4.14", the assumption is that this refers to April 9 rather than September 4, as Evolution Studios is a British-based developer. We've been unable to verify the tweet's legitimacy, and Sony told us it wouldn't comment on rumour or speculation.

Originally planned to be a launch title alongside the PS4 in North America and Europe, Driveclub was delayed to early 2014. When asked about why this had happened, Worldwide Studios boss Shuhei Yoshida explained it was to do with complications surrounding implementation of the game's ambitious social features.

The game also missed launching alongside the PS4 in Japan on February 22. When we asked Sony about this, we received the following statement: "The team at Evolution Studios are working hard to bring Driveclub, a truly next gen driving experience to PS4 and we will announce the release date shortly. We're really excited about how Driveclub is progressing and thank you for your patience."

I loved the PS3 one for co-op. It was my free game after the PSN crash.

I heard that the PS4 one is a little broken at the moment though. Not sure how though.

If you like South Park, you really have to play the game that just came out. It's basically just like playing an episode.

Is DriveClub almost ready or not??????? Sony’s Gone ‘Back to the Drawing Board’ to Make Driveclub ‘Great’
“…we’d be doing everyone a disservice if we shipped it before it was ready.”

...we think we’re on track to deliver what we think is going to be a great game, and when we get closer, we realize that we’d be doing everyone a disservice if we shipped it before it was ready.

The energy surrounding the upcoming PlayStation 4-exclusive racing game Driveclub has largely gone from excitement to skepticism. Driveclub was one of the first PlayStation 4 games revealed, and comes from Sony-owned Evolution Studio, a developer that not only understands the racing genre (it made its name on the MotorStorm franchise), but a developer that undoubtedly had very early access to PlayStation 4.

Revealed as a launch title, Driveclub was unceremoniously delayed on the eve of PS4’s western release, creating questions as to what’s going on with it. We got a chance to speak to Sony’s Scott Rohde – one of the men in charge of Sony’s family of first party studios – about the status of its phantom racing game.

“What I will say is that it all comes back to that fundamental principle, and that’s that we want to build great games,” Rohde said. “And we really don’t want to release a game before it’s ready. And sometimes, this happens in the normal course of business, where we think we’re on track to deliver what we think is going to be a great game, and when we get closer, we realize that we’d be doing everyone a disservice if we shipped it before it was ready.”

“So, I think that at PlayStation, perhaps more than at other places, we’re willing to kinda eat that [cost],” Rohde continued, “and go back to the drawing board and make sure the game is great before we ship it. And that’s what’s going on right now with that game.”

When asked about when it’ll launch, Rohde said, “We’re not announcing any specifics on that yet.” When pressed on if it would still come out sometime in 2014, Rohde refused to say, though Sony PR stepped in to say that we’d get more details soon.

While we wait for more on Driveclub, why not read our most recent preview, and take a look at some videos and screenshots.
