He's not getting fired for that. Dolan doesn't care. All he cares about is the bottom line, and as long as the rangers keep playing in manhattan he'll always be profitable. That's all that asshole cares about that's all any of the Dolans care about. That whole family can go fuck themselves.

Dolan cares if they at least make the playoffs. It will bring him millions of extra dollars if they do make the playoffs.

He didn't and doesn't care when the Knicks don't make the playoffs, why the hell would he care when the rangers don't?

    1. He is not getting fired Step. Get over it.
    2. You are going to judge the MSL trade on 5 games? Come on bro. That was a great trade IMO. I would make that deal every single day. Having Cally here at 6 mill per or more for 6 years had disaster written all over it.
    3. As for Nash, they were not dealing him last week, simply not happening. That was the reality of it. The guy needs to get his sh*t together already though, because he has played like crap since the playoffs last season outside of 15 good games. Enough already. As I said, at the moment that deal looks terrible. No way around it.

Again it is about the extra profit to pocket. If they make the playoffs, they will make more profit for Dolan and his greedy family. He could care less about winning the cups. Thats for sure.

Knicks missed the playoffs and were the laughing stock of the NBA for how many years with Isaiah Thomas and he did what? Let him stay. And then when he finally fired him, he still tried to bring him back. Dolan is clueless. Worst owner in all sports.

Let me tell you something else about Dolan. He doesn't care about hockey...trust me. He let's Sather do whatever he wants, unlike how he treats the Knicks guys.

His knock as a Rangers owner is WAY different than his knock as a Knicks owner. With the Knicks his knock is getting involved too much. Trying to make player decisions (see Melo with Walsh and then forcing Walsh out). With the Rangers his only issue is the man he has in charge has been a disaster here and should have been fired 5 years ago at least.

If we had a good GM/Pres that knew what they were doing, Dolan would be the dream NHL owner. Unlimited funds and stays out of player decisions. Best owner possible. His issue is putting his faith in the wrong guy and then letting him stick around for YEARS despite terrible results. If he got rid of Sather and brought in a top young GM, he'd be the best owner in hockey because he would stay out of it and never get involved. He doesn't know anything about hockey like he thinks he does in bball.

Dolan loves the big name though. Isiah for years of crap. Sather for 15 years of crap. Now Phil Jackson with the Knicks. If he just hired a great young GM with the Rangers, we'd all love Dolan as a hockey owner.

    chuck,
we did NOT have to make that trade. We could've just let cally go in the summer. I agree he is not worth 6 million but comon. We could've kept our picks, use the cash to sign someone better other than cally. Now the team is fucking smaller and softer with MSL.

We'll agree to disagree on that. How many better players would we get than MSL this summer? At a 5.6 mill cap hit. The NHL's leading scorer last season. A 30 goal guy this season. A top 10 scorer this season.

    We agree to disagree.

And quite frankly based on ALL we read, and how it turned out, no shot we would have kept Cally and just let him walk for nothing this summer...no shot.

MSL is old and small. Who knows if he scores 30 goals again. I love zucc but you cant have two tiny finesse guys in your top 9.

I was huge supporter of both Nash and St Louis trades but one thing is consistent w this team past 20 years:

When established vets come to the Rangers they play WORSE here after they come here then before. It's fucking amazing.

    Very true, dis.
This organization never learns. It is like beating the dead horse over and over. Build the team for once the right way and not the half ass way.

Dis nailed it really. It almost seems like no matter what big player we bring in they struggle.

As for MSL we again agree to disagree. 102, 83, 80, 94, 99, 74, 60 (in 48 games), 61 (in 62 games with TB this season).

Those are his point totals year after year. 8 straight big years. If you want to believe it was a bad move to deal Cally, a 1st, and another mid pick for him go right ahead and believe that. Totally your right to feel that way.

I simply disagree 100%. Double so when you understand it was re-sign Cally for 6 years at 6 mill or more per OR deal him. Sather was never going to let him just walk this summer for nothing.

Unless we have a very bad team next season which makes that a top 5-7 pick, which I do NOT see, I think it was a HR deal. On top of that if Cally re-signs in TB we get a 2nd round pick back from them, so we are covered there as well.

It has been 5 games with MSL...5. I like that trade a lot.

As for Nash, he needs to man up. It is truly amazing how poorly he is playing. Again, outside of that hot 15 games he has really done NOTHING since the playoffs last season. Maybe it is fear of another concussion, but whatever it is he needs to be much better or we are F'd.

That trade has been terrible. The guys who we dealt are performing better than Nash. Plus we gave up picks as well. And a solid young dman in Erixon. And took an important element off the team as well. That one has blown up in our faces no doubt.

Ok, I will be the voice of reason. We are still making the playoffs and once in we will be a tough out for someone. I like Kreids switching to richards and St. Louis line and hope AV lets them play together a little. Need to get off nash, step line. Biggest problem to me outside of currently not scoring goals again is the lack of physicality of our defense in clearing and for that matter even trying to clear the crease. Don't know why management is not seeing this and could use big mac up here to help take care of that. We are still too pass happy on offense and need to take good shots when we have them and not look for the sports center highlight play. I still think we will be fine.

I think we get in still as well, win tonight please, but we are not a legit SC threat. That's just reality IMO.

This team can def be a legit SC contender this year. We are have some obvious flaws, but so do the other teams. Other than the B's, who i think are a terrific team, i don't see anyone in the West that i don't think we can beat. Fleury will meltdown like he usually does in the playoffs so i don't expect much out of PIT, but perhaps i'm underrating them. But after PIT and BOS there's no one out there that's really good. No one. Of course, for us to make a run we need MSL, Nash and Henrik to play up to or near the usual levels.

You just can't afford 3 game streaks with no points, so tonight is obviously a huge one, especially with games in hand.
