Your best players need to be your best every night, not once a month. Just un f'n real !! In 9 games since Olympic vacation break... Brad Richards 1G 3A -5 ... Rick Nash 2G 3A -3. Two losers who make no one around them better players !

It's what this organization is known for. Very few have come here and not completely crapped the bed. The exceptions are all time legends like Messier, Gartner and Jagr. Not that he's an all time legend but I'll give Gaborik credit for his production as well. For the rest this is where great players come to die.

Yeah pretty much every established vet stinks when they come to NY. St Louis with zero goals in 7 games after scoring 29 in TB without Stamkos is fitting right in

Yep. We are destined to be screwed in this game and probably this season. Still would have done the Nash deal. Dubinsky is not worth the money he gets paid. He will be asking for the same crap Callahan did when he gets to the end of 14-15. Dubinsky is greedy and lazy. That being said. I could see the Rangers moving Nash to a team like L.A. in the off-season. A deal around King, Toffoli and Forbort. Something like that where the Rangers add size and toughness with some scoring.

Nash really looks like Lindros did the last few years of his career. Plays on the perimeter most nights and just goes through the motions. Nash has always had the mantle of being a world class player but I have never seen it. He played in anonymity in Columbus and since being here has gotten the benefit of the doubt b/c of the concussions. He has been mostly healthy after an early set back and looked good for only a few nights in January. I really think the guy has nothing where it counts...I really do. He is certainly no go to guy or leader.

Great talent but not something I would go forward with at this point. On the other hand I had no interest in seeing Dubinsky here at his salary and I know that greedy pig will ask for 6 million after next season. There will be lots of teams interested in Nash because of that talent. A good deal will be there for Sather.

Yeah, Sather may make a deal but has built nothing, has had no gameplan for past 15 years. He is just seat of the pants decision maker. No legitimate C in god knows how long, no offensive D man to help PP, and no tough as nails D man in forever. You can say they have prospects but that is what they are ...prospects until they are allowed to grow and play in the NHL. The head of player development is relied on heavily to evaluate and get their youth ready...how many years has Schoenfeld been here. It's time for Sather and his cronies to get the f out of here. They finally have some talented youth in the last few years and have handled them like shit. Miller and McIlrath should be up here...this team is going nowhere and continues to play crap like Boyle, both Moore's etc. Every year, nothing is done to address needs. It is an organization wide mentality of laziness and no plan

I think McDonagh is pretty close to being that offensive d-man. He really has stepped up his game this year.

When he extended Boyle and Pyatt that said alot about what Sather is seeing in building a team. He makes some shrewd trades but he just dosen't see the little things.

I agree dump. That is why I am not as concerned with an offensive dman. We need a big physical dman to round out the top 4. Then have Klein and Moore as the 3rd pair until McIlrath is ready. That is a very solid 3rd pair.

Good point sc. It's almost as if you aren't a big name or big move Sather doesn't see it as important. And what Sather doesn't get is that in 2014 (not 1984) when you have a cap, and the game is more defensive and banging, how you fill out the 3rd and 4th lines, and your bottom 3 dmen really is what drives your team. He simply doesn't get that at all IMO.

He thinks just adding 3 7m players and a great goalie is enough to win. There's no balance between size/skill ratio throughout the lineup.

The team has actually gotten smaller in last 3 years and has the patent on big players who play small (Nash,Staal,Boyle, J Moore and Pouliot- although he has shown some signs of grit. Usually you give up size for speed but this team is as slow as shit except for Kreider and Hagelin. The C position is as dreadful as it comes collectively with zero speed and puck handling thru the neutral zone...very few odd man rushes. After first periods it's usually just 40 foot passes from the D that are re directed into zone with little forcheck....Tortorella's started that with these guys a few yrs back and it is back. A true sign that this team has zero conditioning and is struggling to keep up...just look at Richards- started out well and has now hit a wall.

The problem is in hockey your perceived best players need to be leaders who don't take shit form anyone. Crosby, malkin to name a few will retaliate from a cheap shot by spearing the player who gave it to them and are supported by their teammates. Nash and richards just take it like a couple of soulless players which is hard to watch. Maybe if they cracked their sticks over someones head their teammates might get energized instead of giving the same dumbfounded i have no balls look they give all the time. Pretty clear to see opponents around the league don't respect either one of them and I'm wondering if their teammates feel the same way about them.

Maybe Edmonton will bite and take Nash off our hands. We need our picks back in a worst way. We've given up too many picks in the last two years. Edmonton will have a top 3 pick next year. Build the team the right way through the draft and small smart trades. I am sure this wont happen since the good old Glenn is at the helm and will put together half ass team again next year.

This team has lacked top end forward talent....I thought Nash would provide that, he hasn't...yet....if this year is any indication its not happening.

That said, insert Dubi and AA on this team without Nash and are they really any better off? I don't think so. Losing the #1 might hurt though

So now we want to trade for picks? Sounds good. I figure by the time Hank is 35 or so, and Girardi is 33 or so, and MSL is retired, and Staal is over 30 we'll be ready to roll.

Let's go with that plan.

We have top end forward talent now in Nash and MSL, we just need them to actually play like it...:), and even Kreider can score close to 30 next season. Now we need some higher end C talent and some size that can play on D and on the wing. That's the focus this summer IMO.

I stand by my trade proposal. Something like Nash for King, Toffoli and Forbort. The Kings are offensively challenged. I can easily see them offering up a package like that. If the Rangers have to add Dorsett and a prospect like Allen, so be it. As bad as the Rangers offense can be at times, it's still better than the Kings on most nights.

the Kings probably would just sign Gaborik to an extension than trade for Nash who has 4yrs left after this season @ almost $8m cap hit. Do agree he has been very disappointing this season but playing with Mr. Overrated Stepan cannot help, but that's not an excuse as he has the type of talent where he should make his linemates.

And because of that mentality, I will bet you anything that Gaborik was elated to leave this organization.

holy shit player has a bad season and everybody jumping ship and want to trade him? you guys are nuts, how can we build a team if we keep trading our players every year, doesn't make sense, NASH needs to stay here, and listen i know hes played like poo besides that stretch but its ok. Sometimes it takes time ESPECIALLY after a serious concussion.

Thats the problem he has never been the same since his concussion and he plays like a pussy because he is scared one more hit (doesnt even need to be a serious hit) could be his last, He has the eric lindros system where after his concussion he never was the same.

with that being said i say keep him let him try to figure things out, try to build players around him that he does well against, but its going to take more then ONE player to carry a team, its not fair to put all the blame on him,

do you know what great teams have in common (boston, st louis, pitts)?? anybody?? they can score with 4 lines, something we NEVER been able to do, untill we can score with all 4 lines we will never contend for a cup, so instead of trying to blame it all on nash lets take a step back and smell the coffee.... He makes a lot of money but honestly even if he scores 45 goals in a seasons WE STILL WOULDN'T CONTEND. in the playoffs there are defensemen that shut down everybody, just look at chara who shuts down crosby, and if he can shut down crosby do you think hes going to shut down nash, most definitely. so you guys are all very mad right now that the rangers are struggling and believe me im upset too but trading nash is not going to do anything, we can't trade for picks and let hank suffer. he will demand a trade.

On top of that, Nash has a NTC and I am sure would not go to a place like Edmonton.

Even without Nash's NTC, EDM has enough bad long term contracts to take on another $8M/yr cap hit.

Nash had a terrible playoffs and a bad season. You left that out. Sather completely f'd up nothing ridding this team of Boyle, Dorsett and Stralman for whatever he could get. I think Sather actually has gotten lazy now. Time to retire.
