He's taking the backup roll by storm. That's fine with me as I would include some of the younger guys in the system as trade bait.

I'm okay with that also. I just hope we don't trade away a prospect to keep his ass only to have him stick a needle in it.

Come on Rick, low blow. The kid said he made a mistake. He was trying to heal faster and keep his job, being the Yankee starting catcher was his dream job and he felt it was slipping away. So some slick drug dealers sucked him in. Wasn't he only only guy to get 50 days while already on the DL?

This is what a kid fighting for a job looks like. Not some star player trying to make millions more.

Fair enough. I hope it does work out because I really love the kids energy.

Me too, for the same reason. I'd take 24 more with his heart.

...I've always liked Cervi, but the fact is we'll never know what he took and for how long. And like the others, he's only sorry because he was caught. And he should have come clean from the get go, but his version of what happened changed.

...he screwed up, and the stain will always follow him, but hopefully he can make amends and be a benefit to this team.

Screwed up, yes. Stain...that's a bit much. Arod, Braun, Manny...those are stains.

...as far as I know, Cervi's "mistake" was made by obtaining PEDs from Biogenesis, which was what I was responding to...and anyone suspended in the Biogenesis fiasco has a "stain". Now, if you want to break it down into degrees of "stain", go ahead, but the fact remains the same. He cheated, initially lied about it, and only came clean and showed remorse after he was caught.
...like I said, I always liked Cervelli and I hope he can help the Yanx. But if you choose to believe that what he did ("stain") won't follow him for a long time, if not for the rest of his career, that's also up to you.

I've got no problem in giving Cervelli another chance, unfortunately history won't. As 59 said.....a stain is still a stain.

It's good news, both Cervelli and Ichiro need to get lots of time and for Ichiro, start doing well, so they can trade them, the final pieces to this puzzle could come together thanks to those two.

Cervelli could definitely get some interest, he's a starting catcher.

Sorry, there are other guys that got 50 game suspensions before biogenesis and you'd be hard pressed to name them without looking it up. If that's the definition of stain, fine. You can't make an financial transactions to hurt the guys that took the 50 w/o appeal, how else are you gonna hurt these guys, hof votes, lol! Stain only applies to top tier players.

Tote, how many of those "other guys" are still playing in the Majors?...as far as the Biogenesis suspensions, any time any of the suspended players names are mentioned, their past transgressions will also be mentioned. The reputations of Cervelli and the others have been disfigured. Will those reputations ever be fully repaired?...I don't know.

It's never too early to be drinking, maybe they'll take Arod back too?

Arod and Ichiro for Montero, NY pays half the salaries, done.

Steve I don't know if you remember but quite a few years ago we had a moron (much like Rusty) on the Yankees board that called himself, "Yankeeolp" This clown would come up with things like "Do you think the Twins would take Gerald Williams for Kirby Puckett?" Just one stupid trade scenario after another.
