He was scheduled to take BP today he did not and has left the ballpark. No word yet on why. Please don't tell me his fragile body is already causing trouble.
While he is fragile his injury history has been acute, not really chronic, but still, it was his right foot that he fractured not long ago, and now the right calf, might be some lingering issue there.
I heard he had a date with Sonny's BBQ....one of the most addicting smoked-BBQ joints in Fla. or Ga. I too would take a day off of ST, just to eat at Sonny's, if I were in ST, that is........!
Negative MRI sounds like nothing to me. From Lohud... Jacoby Ellsbury was sent for an MRI today. Joe Girardi said the results came back negative, and Girardi remains confident Ellsbury will be available on Opening Day. “When he came to the park, they sent him to get it,” Girardi said. “He could have taken BP today. I always say, if they don’t know how to hit BP yet, we’re in a lot of trouble. … My guess is he’ll try to take some BP tomorrow and then we’ll go from there. We want him to run before he plays.” Despite today’s test, Girardi continues to say the calf tightness is seen as a minor issue. He talks as if it’s a matter of days, not weeks, before Ellsbury will be a full player again. “I’m very confident he’ll be ready April 1,” Girardi said
Really hope he doesn't sustain any lingering injuries. I've always thought he was one of the best all around players in the league and I'm anxious to see what he can do playing his home games in a lefty hitter friendly park.
