    Pastafazul:

What player card is on the front, and who's stats are on the back? do you know the year and manufacturer of the card, sound indeed like an error card. Some error cards are never corrected, then some are. If an error card is caught early on in the print cycle, and corrected, making it say 20 percent of the total, with 80 percent of the same card corrected. Then typically the error is usually worth considerably more. If the corrected card is say only 20 percent of the total, the corrected card would be worth more.

Some cards like the Montana 1990 Error, were corrected once approx. 50 percent of all cards were printed. Thus the error card is booking for the same amount as the corrected card. IMO the error is priceless, as I have never seen any QB card, with 3,000+ Touchdowns, with but 31 Passing Yards.

One of the better 'new millenium' era sets is the 2005 Topps set, only if you acquire the 'Update and Highlights' set with the Factory Set. The 05 Factory Set only has rookie cards of Kinsler, Weeks, D.Wright and Ethier.

The Update Set is Loaded with rookies, the factory set lacks, tha is: Prospects, Draft Picks and Future's All Star Rookies. Including to name a few:

    Draft Picks: M. Garza/ R. Romero/ J. Ellsbury/ J. Mayberry/ Jered Weaver/ S. Drew/ C. Volstad/ A. McCutchen/ J. Bruce/ R. Zimmerman/ C. Pennington/ C. Rasmus/ R.Braun.

    Futures All Stars: J. Verlander/ Shin-Choo/ Hanley Ramirez/ N. Cruz/ B.J.Upton/ D. Young/ C. Young/ E. Encarnacion/ F. Liriano/ C. Jackson/ Andy LaRoche/ M. Montero/ K. Thompson/ R. Garko/

    Prospects: Dan Johnson/ H. Bailey/ 'King' Felix Hernandez/

and a young 21 year old Matt Kemp, (a stand alone rookie card)- (neither in Prospects, Draft Picks or Futures
    All Stars).

Glad to see you could make it Paul...!!!

Hey Rick, Berra_10_ is my older Brother In Law. I've been waiting for him to come aboard for a week. Hail's from Wichita, KS. A Vietnam Vet also.

Get this, in 82, he comes out here to CA., newly married to one my sisters, driving a souped up 69 Chevy Nova, pulling a Harley, and wearing, Disco Heel shoes...LMAO...

The kicker tho' is, he watched me intently collecting MLB-Cards, for the 2 weeks he visited. I gave him a few Sports Collectors Digests, (then the Bible of Sports Cards and Memorabilia Collecting). I told Paul: since you live in KS., if I were you, I would hit up every small town yard sale, estate auction, and look for old baseball cards. Paulie one upped me, he goes out gets his Auctioneer License, then commences to go from town to town, telling folks to bring their stuff to Wichita to Auction.

Paul, being the guy who would Auction these, got first bid, if there were no or little $$$ Limit to the cards. The S.O.B. (I say this in fun, he's a great guy), wound up to this day, and 20 years ago, with cards I only have dreamed of having. It is mind boggling. I bet Paulie is in his work shop right now collating a mountain of old cards. Retired, he has nothing better to do with his time.

Way back in 91, he made enough auctioning off a small part of his collection, to buy my sister a new to her, & low mileage Corvette...!! S.O.B. Some guys get all the luck, and Paulie wiped out all those old cards found in attics, barns, along with a old car and Harley or two. He left nothing for us.......or anyone else. LMAO...

Paul, come out come out wherever you are.

Holy Cow, wait a minute, is that what caused the Mick to have bad knees, and ankles, he got them caught in your spokes? Oh the horror of it all......Do you recall losing any other valuable players to your bicycle spokes?

The pleasure was all mine Pasta.....!!
! (I wouldn't trade those memories for a Rookie Mantle 52 Topps, and a T-206 Honus Wagner, seriously).

I lucked out, working mostly Stateside, on Bombers, Fighters, (or combos thereof), Cargo and Re-Con Aircraft. with the Air Force. Paulie, aka:Berra_10Rings, spent years in the Jungles, as an Army Medic. He always told me, the Red Cross on his Medic Back Pack was often used as a Bullseye for Viet Cong. He had his Bicep torn to shreds from a AK-47. (I'll let him tell his own stories).....

My own career blossomed years later, when I entered the private sector, working for Lockheed, Rockwell NAAO and STSD (North American and Space Shuttles). To retire on the Northrop-Grumman: B2 and JSTARS Programs. A life of great memories of men/women and their spectacular flying machines. To many memories/moments to single any one out. Perhaps getting to meet each Space Shuttle Crew, or First Flight of the Flying Wing. (Those Shuttle incidents we took personally, broke our hearts, but not our will).

I guess I got to call my sister in KS. and tell her to get the Mountain Rescue Search Dogs out, to pull Paul out from under his Mountain of Baseball Cards. Never a need to be shy here Pauliie, (want a cracker)????

Pasta-do you know what year the error card is, or manufacturer. Got to love those 89-91 Upper Deck NHL Update Cards. Those 2 sets are freaking loaded with Mogilny, Bure, Fedorov, Larionov, Fetisov, and Hasek (tho a Czech).

IMO, once the Russian Red Army Hockey Team came to the NHL, Hockey has never been the same. I can not recall anyone other than Gretzky, (anyone seen Lemieux do this one:) Fedorov, as a Defenseman, got the puck behind his own Red Wings Net, and skated past, around, every single player on the other team. Five men trying to take out Fedorov, and he makes them all look like kids, a comedy of trial, mores-so errors!!! Sergei, slid the puck between the legs of one defender, picking the puck back up with his stick, as he blew by the frist of five defenders. Skating un-deterred all the way down the Ice, and Scored! Holy Cow, what a memory burned into this brain. I would put money on Fedorov or Bure, even over the Great One, when it comes to pure skating.

Tho' in all reality, Gretzky made such feats look routine.
