Re: Shaq's numbers Does anybody else think that Shaq is just using the excuse that he is sacrificing his own numbers to elevate Dwyane Wade's game? When in reality he just cant produce at a superstar level anymore?I think so to be honest. I don't think he is sacrificing his stats to help Wade produce better. I think his age is catching up with him and he cant produce at the level he's used to.
Re: Shaq's numbers He knows he's regressing, and he has expressed that publicly many times. But, I will say this: although he doesn't put up 28/13 anymore, the presence is still there, and he can still have nights where he dominates in the paint. But again, Shaq himself has even said he knows he's slowing down and I believe once he said something like "it would be stupid of me to try and be "the man" with a super talent like Dwyane Wade."
Re: Shaq's numbers Well the good thing that makes me at least somewhat impressed is that he's trying to stay in shape. Slimming down. He's trying to counter his age by getting into better shape. Otherwise, he'd be a total mess.
Re: Shaq's numbers Hmm. I have heard him say he is trying to elavate Wade's game on ESPN thousands of times before. And I also heard him on one on one interviews saying he knows he is getting older and isnt a superstar. But I dont know why but when he is on the team everyone gets so confident and plays better.

He doesn't even have to be playing well, as long as he's on the court for us, it gives the other players a boost.
Re: Shaq's numbers I think he could be putting up better numbers on other teams, he gives up the ball a lot more than he did in Los Angeles. He's definitely fading but is letting Wade run the show.
Re: Shaq's numbers He's become a wise passer too. He's lucky to be on a team with all the three point shooters. (Posey, Walker, Williams, Payton) Sure he's wearing down, but I think he wants to be able to play out his contract. He doesn't want to wear down his body and have to retire early. He wants to win.
Re: Shaq's numbers shaq can still get 25 and 11 any time he wants tohe wants to help dwayne wade because wade wants to help him - sort of like father/son
Re: Shaq's numbers Even WITH declining numbers how many teams have Centers who get 20 and 9.2 a night?I'll take that decline over guys like Brian Grant who decline into nothingness.
