Michael Del Zotto was a healthy scratch last night when the Predators took on the Canucks.
-Del Zotto was a healthy scratch 8 times for the Rangers before being traded.

Nashville coach Barry Trotz said after the game that Del Zotto’s game has slipped and he has gotten away from “making solid decisions, solid plays.” (PHT)

Del Zotto was a minus six in his previous three games and since being traded (18 games) Del Zotto has 0 goals, 3 assists and is a minus five.

Nope. Doesn't mean much. He can clearly get his game together this summer and come back great next season, not a closed book at all. BUT I think it does show MDZ clearly has work to do to get where he wants to be. His game is a mess right now, and has been for a while. That is all this shows.

a rushed prospect who had early success and let it get to his head.

This was a lost season for Del Zotto. Though, I don't know why Nashville thought he would be a fit there. They have two highly skilled offensive defenseman there in Jones and Weber. I would not be shocked to see the Preds move him in the off-season for some offensive help.

feel bad for MDZ, but it has been clear for a season and a half, his career is slipping away. I have posted quite a few times, until MDZ gets into a fight , scruffle or scrum, or stands up for a teammate he will not make it in the NHL. It may be already too late.

I believe MDZ is a system player. Just has to be put in the right system. I could easily seem him doing very well in Colorado with that system and a maniac for a coach like Roy.
