That's embarrassing for the bad "sentence" structure/grammar, not for announcing the most exciting can't miss draft pick in a decade. Who, as it turned out, missed, crashed, burned, crashed again, and again, rose from the dead, became the worlds tallest basketball zombie....

Also, since the writer wrote an article for no purpose other than to be snarky and superior to others: it's "avatar", not "avitar", dude.

I can remember I was on a flight from PDX to DEN. I landed, checked my voicemail and got several messages telling me we just won the lottery. I announced it to a full plane of people, and the flight crew then announced it over the intercom. Everyone on the plane cheered.

Who could have forseen that GO would have the combined problems of Walton and Bowie? It's just sad. It's not like the guy was LaRue Martin. When he played, he was dominant. Worse yet, we never saw him in 100% basketball shape.

So is this something that is going to be rehashed at least two or three times a year? He's like a fucking ghost that won't stop haunting the fanbase (mostly because people won't let go).

There's no reason to pretend it didn't happen. It's part of our history. It's part of our culture. It's part of us.

I was probably more excited when we won the Greg Oden sweepstakes than I was when we won the championship. I was in awe of Greg Oden's dominance and his promise. I was crushed by his defeats.

It's OK to talk about it.

I was too young to remember much from the team of the early 90's. Did people constantly lament not drafting Jordan?

No, we furiously debated and argued that Drexler was better than Jordan.

Ha, ha. Yes people do. And the national media still won't let us forget.

Actually, I lament that the Blazers blew the coin toss for Hakeem. They were supposed to call 'heads'. Seriously. There was a contest. Then, I wanted them to draft The Round Mound of Rebound. Blew that one too.

The Jordan thing doesn't bother me much. For 90% of people, that's just hind sight talking.

I get that nobody knew Jordan would be as good as he became. I too wish we had won the coin toss. If we'd been able to draft Hakeem, I highly doubt Jordan would have won six rings. Our team with Hakeem, or even a prime Sabonis, would have destroyed the Bulls.

I agree its getting old and its like the press writes a story on it anytime they want to troll the fanbase. I wouldn't be surprised if canzawho? Wrote a piece on it after lillard Trolld the shit out of him.

It is one of those Blazer moments I will never forget. Just like Game 7, WCF 2000. Just remember, it will make the 2nd championship that much sweeter. First we have to get out of the first round though.

True I remember I was in my room with my 3 best buds watching the draft. One of my friends was praying for Durrant and me and my other 2 buddies were explaining to him you just can't pass on a dominant big man like that.

I remember game 7 of wcf I was at my moms uncles house watching the game by myself with a flight to visit my dad in the morning, I cried myself to sleep that night.

Although tough memories ill never forget them. On the bright side ill never forget roys game 4 comeback it was probably the most fun I've had in my life.

Why do we subject ourselves to this kind of pain? The number of times that sports have brought me joy are so completely outnumbered by the times like that game 7 WCF. I can probably count on one hand how many times I've felt like I did after that 2007 draft. That's a handful of times in like 25 years of fandom. Doesn't seem worth it anymore.

I was in 8th grade and I worshipped half the guys on that team. Sheed, pippen, Steve smith, Brian grant, sabbis, bonzi. I remember mowing lawns just to buy their basketball cards off eBay.

At least we were a Trail Blazer in joining Twitter. We seem to be one of the first NBA teams to do it.
