Who gets his roster spot. If Nunez was going to make the team anyway I would guess Anna?

It might be someone like Almonte or Solarte (forgive the spelling). which would be okay with me.

Solarte should get the other backup job along with Nunez.
Yanks may find something good with Solarte.
Give the kid a chance- and let him get a few early season at bats.

Not many people expected Mattingly or Cano to turn into the players they would eventually become -
Of course I'm not saying Solarte is going to be an MVP-All Star type player like those two players, the point is, sometimes you just never know how well a young player will rise to the challenge of playing with top competition.
There are certain players who actually raise their game when they get their chance in the big show.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Yanks have a couple of lesser known youngsters down on the farm who could eventually surprise people.
We can all agree many times hot-shot high draft picks turn into mediocre major leaguers - at best!

Well we have a very questionable infield, an injury prone center fielder & a 36 year old right fielder so this may be the year when several of our farm hands get a chance.
