Re: Players you wish your team hadn't gotten rid of Only rule: the player has to have been on your favorite team within the past 10 years. For the Celtics:1. Antoine WalkerYou all know I love Toine. But not only was he an All-Star forward, but he did ALL the little things. Waving towels, knowing the history and loving the fact that he was a Celtic, hustle, HEART, team spirit, leadership etc. Even off the court, was GREAT to the Boston community. He loves people, he's a great guy, he did an endless anount of charity events, did things for the kids, etc. That's Antoine Walker, he's a great person. Even from a personal standpoint, he was best friends with Paul Pierce and with those two loving being around each other really raised our team chemistry considerably. Without Walker, Celtic Pride is shot down the ground, and even if you are a "Walker hater," you can't deny that he was a great Celtic and he was great for the city of Boston. Toine never wanted to leave Boston, especially not twice, and I will never forgive Danny Ainge for this.2. Chauncey BillupsWe drafted him #3 overall then shipped him out halfway through his rookie year for Kenny Anderson. Now, Anderson was a guy that I liked and he was a good vetern PG, but he was past his prime and Chauncey Billups absolutely blew up after a few years. Look at him now, he's a top 5 PG in the entire NBA, he's a leader, he's a great guy, and he's clutch. A trio of Pierce, Walker, Billups would be amazing right now. We would be a contender in the East, no doubt.3. Joe JohnsonSame deal as Billups, we shipped him out midway through his rookie year. And for Rodney Rogers and Tony Delk. Both solid vets at the time, but again, past their prime. Look at him now too, he's a valid 20/5/5 option and he does a little bit of everything on both ends.Just think, we could have had this:C: Tony BattiePF: Antoine WalkerSF: Paul PierceSG: Joe JohnsonPG: Chauncey BillupsIt's a damn shame how bad Celtics ownership/front office was before the Ainge era (which is shaky too).
Re: Players you wish your team hadn't gotten rid of From the Jazz:Troy Hudson.Antoine Carr.Raja Bell.the Jazz didn't get "rid" of Bell and Carr, both left via free agentcy.
Re: Players you wish your team hadn't gotten rid of Top 3: 1) Jason Kidd: I'll never understand the reason towards having to trade Kidd during the whole Three's Company mess with Jimmy Jackson and Toni Braxton. He was obviously the most talented of the three and had a bright future ahead of him. Ridding of all three and not keeping Kidd, ranks up there as one of the worst moves in Mavericks history. 2) Steve Nash/Raja Bell: We let both players walk simply. Steve Nash becomes a 2 time MVP in Phoenix, Bell still a good defensive player but with an added offense to his game. I could go on about Nash but I already talked about it to length in the past and other topics. Both asking prices were hardly high either, that makes it hurt even more. 3) Michael Finley: I know some Mavs fans would be like why is this on here. Well, he was one of the first Mavericks I was a fan of. And the whole way he left the team, was bullsh** imo. He was the heart and soul of this team through the bad and good. Basically waiving him is a sh*tty way to go. I honestly expected Finley to retire a Mav, but I fully understand Cubes reason towards the amnesty clause. I think had we kept him, would have been a nice spark off the bench. His limited minutes could help him focus more on his defensive side(and yes he was a good defender early in his career), also provide sorely needed 3 pt shooting.
Re: Players you wish your team hadn't gotten rid of This is pretty obvious for the first 2 of the Raptors:1. Tracy McGrady2. Vince Carter3. Chauncey Billups4. Donyell Marshall5. Jalen RoseThe lineup could have been this if they stay in TO:C: Antonio DavisPF: Donyell MarshallSF: Vince CarterSG: Tracy McGradyPG: Chauney Billups6th Man: Jalen RoseThe fact that Jalen would be 6th man scares me because this team could have been a contender and perhaps win a chip.

When were they going to win this championship? Use logic. You can't just say, oh this team is good, they'd win it all. There happen to be plenty of other strong teams that could beat them. Oh, and you spelled Chauncey wrong.
Re: Players you wish your team hadn't gotten rid of Darko Milicic - Darko could've been a solid back-up center for us right now...and the anxiety of Ben leaving wouldnt have been as high. Darko is slowly, but surely growing into becoming a decent center.Mehmet Okur - I can't believe we got rid of him, he was such a great player. We had Larry Brown who did not like him for some reason and was probably responsible for him leaving. Look at him now...he's one of the most underrated guys.Mike James - Mike James and Lindsey Hunter were called the "bulldogs" - that's because when they came out from the bench they played the most suffocating defense ever. Mike James was a great scorer, too.
Re: Players you wish your team hadn't gotten rid of I understand why we got rid of Okur though. We didn't have the money he wanted. We were going to spend that money on resigning the big five, but Ben left.I agree with Darko and Mike James. I also want to add Zejlko Rebraca (We traded him for Rasheed, but I think we could have found a different person to trade) and the Junkyard Dog Jerome Williams
Re: Players you wish your team hadn't gotten rid of Chris ChildsSo people thought the Nets finally have a quality back-up in Marcus Williams? Not that long ago in 2002, we had Chris Childs! Who? Chis "The Man" Childs! A future hall of famer, never afraid to take an important shot, diss out an assist, or going for a steal. Man, I would love to see him leading our offense again. In 12 games this guy scored 1.3 point(s?) per game, on 30% shooting. He also averaged 1.3 assists! He equalled his assist average to his point per game average!!!!! Talk about being unselfish!Dwayne Schintzius->looks like that dude from Wolfenstein 3D! Ha, and Jayson Williams called Keith Van Horn "the pale rider"? He must have forgot about "Insane Game" Dwayne! Check out his career stats with New Jersey: He appeared in 43 games, and started 11 of them! And in the 7.4 minutes per game he played, he scored 2 points, with a whopping 38% field goal percentage! Dude's 7'2, and averaged 1.9 rebounds per game. When Krstic came to the USA, he always said he wanted to be like Schintzius. Not only because of their last names are difficult to spell, but also because Dwyane was like a Russian Shaq. Doug OvertonDamn man, Dunkin' Doug was on our team three times! But three's a charm! He scored 1.3 point(s?), 37% shooting and 0.7 assist(s?) in the six games he played for us in 2003. He was a real crowd pleaser, with all that flashy play, so everyone was sad to see him go. I still remember that 360 degree layup vs the Lakers, or that jam over Alonzo Mourning.... memories.........

Personally, I'd rather have KMart, but if you were GM, then good luck with that.... By the way, the Pistons could still have Ratko Varda, if Richard Hamilton had never came to Detroit. He played a whole ONE GAME for the Pistons.

Re: Players you wish your team hadn't gotten rid of If they hadn't traded Steve Francis, then he still wouldn't be playing for Vancouver. It was a smart deal.
Re: Players you wish your team hadn't gotten rid of Yeah...and who the hell wants Steve Francis back on a team? NOT ME!!!! Anyways, he was never Memphis property, as Mike Bibby was cause the Grizzlies were officialy "Memphis Grizzlies" right before we traded him.
