Golden State Warriors coach Mark Jackson has decided to reassign assistant Brian Scalabrine,according to a Yahoo! Sports report. It is not known what position Scalabrine will take on within the coaching staff, but the Warriors do not intend to allow him to leave the organization. While the team thinks highly of Scalabrine, it decided to allow Jackson to make decisions on his staff, according to the report. Jackson hired Scalabrine to his staff in July. Scalabrine had a standing offer with the Chicago Bulls after his final NBA season, but decided to work in media for a year. He joined the Warriors with a recommendation from Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau
Does this mean what I think it means? Did the Warriors come knocking and Thibs replied "Yes, he's great, go hire him!" Or was it more like: Scal: So Thibs, I'm looking to get into coaching and was wondering if you had any openings on your staff. Thib: (Belly laugh) Scal, believe me, you don't wanna come here. I heard those guys in SF were pretty nice....
