The Otis Nixon error card #392 with Alex Cole on back was not corrected by Topps Stadium Club. The 89 Nolan Ryan Donruss Error cards, had two blockbuster mistakes and some minor ones. The backs of Nolan Ryan`s 5,000 strikeout card (No. 659) and his Super Diamond King issue (No. 665) were reversed. All three errors, which appear to be in very short supply, already have been corrected. When an Error Card is corrected, the error card may not be of more dollar value than the corrected one, UNLESS, the Manufacture corrects the error early in the printing process. Whichever error or corrected card has the least amount of printings, that card (less printed) becomes of more value dollar wise than the other. However, any error card regardless of being the most or least printed, always has collectors value, regardless of quantities. Yet, those not corrected, like the Nixon/Cole card unfortunately are booking for approximately 50 cents. Ridiculous if you ask me, as any error card or coin, is always an oddity, worth collecting. Like the 90 Montana Fleer Card, both the corrected and error cards are booking for the same price. I'd much rather have the error as would most collectors. As mentioned prior, who wouldn't want a Montana Card showing a lifetime of approximately 35,000 TDs with only 241 Passing Yards. As of end of 1990 Season. Here is a link of numerous 1987 Minor and Major Topps error cards. One of the Majors would be Boggs card, with no back print on it. Mattingly's Minor Error, the correct card has the Trademark in the baseball under the Eagle in the left upper corner, the error is missing the TM. So on........I cannot off the top of my head recall what the exact error of Clemens 87 is. I have to either pull the card from my sets or other individuals. Somewhere buried in this house, is a list of every error I know of, with a very long list of those 87 Topps, errors. No other set to my knowledge, excluding the first 3 yrs of Donruss and Fleer sets, ever has as many errors. Fleer and Donruss' first couple of years were a horribly bad set of pictures, prints, and many other problems they both encountered in their fist attempt to mass produce baseball cards. They did go on to get their shit together by 85 on, producing some very nice cards. The sad thing about the 86 and on cards, were all companies mass produced their cards into almost a value-less product. Yet us hobbyist are never concerned (much) about the value of cards price wise, only the pure sentimental value, be it historical or otherwise. http://www.ebay.com/bhp/1987-topps-error More on the Russian Red Army cards to come, later.........a great series of players.
like your opinion of what you think mcguire, bonds, and clemens cards are, or will be worth in future, have a lot of them.
I can't to my memory recall one Anthony "Tony" Gulli. Sounds like an incredible guy.... It does amaze me tho' how small this world is, or how large or small Aerospace Workers are.....I have met more people in AC hangars around the country, who I have worked with in either McConnell AFB, Edwards AFB, Barksdale AFB, Castle AFB, or Plant 42 Aircraft and Space Production Final Assembly and Test Facility in Palmdale, Ca. It is a small world after all.
Pasta.... I will indeed give this one some thought, and get back to you on your very good question.... What I am seeing and what I am thinking right now seem like two different things. I need a day to think this one out, or see if I'm seeing straight, double, or if my hunch is equal to my actual vision. If what I think is a fact, as some of these Steroid Monsters cards have plummeted in price, yet some are still pricy. A odd thing I'm seeing in the Baseball Card market, and hobby. (my thinking isn't equaling what I think I'm seeing, or what I am seeing is an illusion, or is maybe, baseball card collector's greed. Or, an attempt to salvage money spent by collectors, who are trying to recoup their losses, by buying up to many cards of Steroid Monsters)...Whew, I began to confuse myself here.
I said this will not be about me, or my collection, so it won't be, although, let me just share with you all, a bit of eye candy, of those cards, I revere above all others. Both Koufax and Brooks are their Rookie Cards, all 1957's the best year IMO for MLB cards, less 1952 Topps of course. and of course one from the NBA collection.... Oscar Robertson's Rookie Card. Anyone ever seen the Oscar Interview on NBA Legends, explaining why he never slam dunked a basketball, (tho' he could of very easily did so at anytime in his career. He also explains how he became so adept at the outside line shot. Great stuff, legends are made of. Put 'em up if you got 'em, I'd love to see what you got, more than I would like to look at my own.
You want to see what I stole from you Rob, rather you foolishy traded me for half your entire collection to try to get back? Ok, then Mr. candy man, put this cotton candy in your nose, or eye. LMAO. Take care bro-in-law, for teaching me everything I know about sports cards. bugger........thanks for the tip, to raid farming town barns, lofts, estate auctions. Wish you could of been here in more than spirit. Your sister says thanks for the Vette.
You know you owe me more than a Vette, tell Cindy she can drive it up your ass, you old fock.... You too owe me for half of your collection. Without me you wouldn't have shit.....LMFAO...all kidding aside, thanks for coming to the party, you old fock, go back to bed, or bury your head in your pile of shit cards. I bet your collecting Garbage Pail Kids now, eh?...
