Heh. But if it's happening during the commercials, HCP (the blazer truck) isn't the source. It's Concast. And they suck.
They all don't, so it's likely Concast Sports Net the channel, not Xfinity/Comcast the cable provider. But because one owns the other...
I actually hope it gets worse to the point people get really pissed off and start switching over to another carrier.
What a wonderful first post! Thanks, Denny. You could have just posted this under your own account. FWIW, I had no issues with screeching on the audio.
It's a Comcast Sports Net issue. And that fact that THEY HAVEN'T FIXED THE ISSUE YET Is a sign that they are monopoly and they can do whatever they want. There is absolutely no pressure they are going to lose any business off it. Where are we going to go to watch the Blazers? It's sad really. But they handle their standard business the same way. I will say this, The Portland Trail Blazers better be looking at all of these issues when they negotiate their next television deal. If we have to deal with all these same issues again. It might be best just to kick them to the curb
http://www.dslreports.com/faq/3408 If everyone is not affected, then it could be a wiring/cable problem with your installation. Since they went to full digital broadcasting a few years ago, the existing "outside plant" might not be suitable for digital signal at all frequencies. Or maybe it's an issue for whole neighborhoods. It could be that if they put the game on a different channel, it wouldn't have the sound issue.
i suggest we all flood the email CSNNW@csnnw.com or call 503-736-5140 i had to unplug my rear speakers, couldnt handle it tonight
Bombard them with emails and calls. Remember last year when blazer fans bombarded TNT facebook for always running games late into blazer games and forcing us to miss first quarter?
"Hello, I've been watching the Blazer games regularly this season, and a few months ago, something changed in your feed that caused the sound quality to drop dramatically. Music and crowd sounds especially sound grainy and loud, as if they were 8-bit sounds or run through a ring modulator. It's happening during commercials too, so it's not the feed from the Blazers to you. It's not on other channels so it's not Comcast the provider. Can you please send whatever intern who messed up your sound back in there and have him or her fix whatever they broke when they hid in the back from the boss? Seriously, this issue is forcing me to consider just forgetting the whole thing, unsubscribing from Comcast cable entirely, and just not pay for this horrible quality. It's an embarrassment, because NBA TV is getting this awful feed quality too. We look like clowns, guys. Have some damn pride and get this issue fixed. Best, [BlazerCaravan's Real Name]"
Hate Comcast. I personally use Direct TV, but alas it forces me to stream the games online. So I don't always get the best HD Blazers. It's worth the trade off of not paying Comcast for me.
Put together a video of what I hear (it goes in and out) and messing with levels. Also provided a 2nd part of it eventually sounding just fine. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MwSvCi9CtxE Seems to be the left and right surround, it's weird.
David Cohen, Comcast Corporation Executive Vice President is on C-SPAN right now, talking about the merger. You'll be able to watch it (if you want to) on C-SPAN's site later.
Thank you to everyone who sent constructive emails to us about this issue. There are a lot of moving parts in a Blazer broadcast including the truck, the Moda Center studio, CSN Master Control and then local headends for any cable provider that carries the channel. This issue was here, went away and now seems to be back. Please know we ARE working to fix this not just ignoring it like some have said/implied. Please keep us posted as the more data we have (zip codes/games it happens/cable provider/etc) helps our techs isolate the issue.
How about we isolate the issue of Comcast blacking out league pass as an alternative and forcing blazer fans to buy shitty cable or not watch games?
