Hibbert's bigger but not by that much. They both average 11 points but Lopez shoots a much better percentage. Lopez grabs almost 2 more rebounds per game. Hibbert just averages .7 more blocks a game. I'll take Lopez over the Max contract of Hibbert. Looks like we lucked out not getting him. If Lopez is better, is he top 5? Behind Dwight, Noah, and maybe Marc and Al? He's definitely 6th if you throw in Jordan but I'd much rather have Lopez on FT shooting alone. Lopez shoots 81%.
And no I don't think he is. Hibbert defensively I think can be magificent which makes him worth the contract he has. Rolo gets the most out of his resources.
Olshey should win GM of the year almost entirely because of the Rolo deal, but getting Robinson for virtually nothing was a coup as well.
Rolo has been so much better offensively than I had hoped for. He seems to be getting better every year.
At this point over half of Hibbert's reputation comes from the fact he looks like Wilt Chamberlain when he plays the Heat because Miami basically has 0 big men. Take away that and he is far less dominant when he plays against actual big men. I said Hibbert wasn't worth the MAX at the time and I still stand by it. Borderline overrated.
Are we talking about active players? If so, I can name a few off the top of my head. Yao, rik smidts, and brad daughter were damn good ft shooters.
I was asking about specifically current starting centers..you're right about those guys. Sabonis was no slouch or Hakeem or Jabar but it's his competition in the current NBA that I'm wondering about. He's got to be one of the best.
