if i remember correctly there was a blue cushion on fence out there, and we put our spike marks in there like one would put their initials in fresh concrete.

Unfortunately Martin paid for it when he was labeled as a bad influence to Mickey & Whitey. When it was Bauer who beat the hell out of the guy at the Copa.

...actually, unless I'm mistaken, it was Casey Stengel who asked The Mick to cover for DiMaggio who had slowed quite a bit and was in his final year.

...and no, I'm not OK, never have been, never will be...J/K, I'm fine Rick, thanx for asking. Just been busy with my home business and rebuilding a golf cart engine, and getting my garden ready, and burning off some underbrush, getting deer food plots ready, spraying for weeds, putting down lime, putting out weed and feed, etc, normal Spring stuff.
...remind me some time, and I'll post some before and after pictures of an old 1950 Ford 8N tractor that I fully restored.

I read Martins book #1 and according to Billy the GM at the time George Weiss had it in for him and that Copa incident was the straw that broke the camels back. I saw Billy as a Yankee during the '56 season, scrappy hustling dude who wanted to win and proud to be a Yankee. Bauer, that guy was no one to mess with, we used to call him Hank the Tank, former Marine Major during WWII and one of my early favorites along with Mickey, Billy, Yogi, and Whitey.

Allie (The Chief) Reynolds. RH pitcher.

Yankee fans, don't ever forget Allie Reynolds.

Yanks may not have been such big winners (WS) during the 50's without Reynolds-
One of the most underrated or forgotten players/pitchers who contributed much- from any Dynasty (or single championship team) in history !!!!

My apologies, I did indeed plan to include Allie Reynolds, a great Yankee. Only Johnny VanDerMeer, Virgil Trucks, and Allie Reynolds, seemed in a class of their own unbelievable accomplishments, achieving what no one else could, in their times.

Allie Reynolds is a Giant Amongst Men....and Let me never forget it, again. Mon apologies.....
