That was an amazing awesome interview. Great job everyone. And thanks to Jerome for the memories and being such a great ambassador.
Go Sly, it's your Birthday, we're gonna party like it's your Birthday! Great Job to everyone who participated, really good questions and answers.
I think Lopez has that same mindset that he got from Shaq. Something like "When you're on the court you win at any cost and the other team isn't your friend."
I'm thinking I should have broken up the interview into 3 parts and instead of just dumping the entire thing on the forum I should have released a part a day. Releasing the entire thing makes it a little hard to discuss individual answers. Anyway, the quoted section above was my favorite part of the interview. There was an attitude and toughness you had to have back then if you wanted to succeed in NBA. I tend to forget that when I think back about what made the early 90's Blazers so good. It makes me wish I could bottle some of that attitude and give it to Batum. Batum is a very good player but he doesn't always have the same killer take no prisoners attitude that Kersey did. I cracked up at his answer to the Laker question, the "we disliked everyone" is the mentality I'd like to see our current team take on.
My Gary Payton question got a good response from him, I was glad to hear him comment on the hand checking rule. I think it was a good interview and responding to the interview is going to give you a lotta pages on this thread Sly! Well done.
I liked his responses to my series of matchup questions. He definitely had his hands full most nights.
