Ok I wrote this tut a long time ago(when I wasnt that good) for my own website and decided to post it here ... might be good for absolute novices Open up Photoshop and Turn on music that you like to help you concentrate!1)Open up a sig-sized white document (400x100) - I prefer 375x125.I like to drag the document a little so that there is some grey around it.2)Open up your render and drag it into your sig.(use a psd from our resource list - alot quicker)3)Resize it (just show the head and some of the shoulders - I find this is a lot better than just having a really small full body pic of someone).Time to work on the background.4)Click on the eye in the layers palette to hide the render.5)Open up a new layer and fill with white.6)Press 'D' to reset your colours.7)Filter>Render>Clouds. Then Image>Adjustments>Inverse8)Again open up a new layer and fill with white. Start brushing lightly in black with a good grunge brush (check out our resource list if ya dont have one).Set Blending mode to overlay, soft light ect (whatever you think looks best).9)Image>Adjustments>Colour Balance. Set the settings that fits best with what your sig is.Here is what I have so far.user posted image9a)I fell that is to bright so go to Image>Adjustments>Brightness/Contrast and darken it to your preference.Time to blend the render10)Click on the eye again and drag your render to the top of all the layers.11)Filter>Blur>Gaussian Blur. Set the radius to about 3.5 pixels.12)Now go to Edit>Fade Gaussian Blur.Set opacity to about 70%13)Take the lasso tool and select most of your render but leave the outsides of it.Now go to Select>Feather. Set it to about 5-10 pixels.14)Now go to Select>Inverse. Now press backspace to clear the image. You should be left with a well blended image.14a)Alternatively you could just set the master opacity of the render layer to around 65-70%.15)Now add a picture that shows a bit about your sig eguser posted image16)Put it above the cloud layer but below the colour balance layer again adjust your blending options (I prefer soft light) and adjust the opacity level around 40-50% whatever looks good.17)Click the eye of the bottom white layer to see if the sig looks better.18)Now add text or a border to complete and there you go a simple yet effective sig!user posted image-------------------------------Niall2Doc------Sport Universe Co-Owner-------------------
if you are gonna do a full sig tut please provide pics of the each result and the final result so people can look for that they are getting. because they can be getting a different result than you are.
