Saturday March 28th, 2014 Games To Watch (Games Updated Throughout Comments)- Houston vs. Los Angeles Clippers Root For: Clippers Reason: With Beverley injured, a matchup with the Rockets seems a lot more favorable now than it did just 24 hours ago. Hopefully the Clippers can widen the gap between them and the Rockets with a win on Saturday. Dallas vs. Sacramento Root For: Kings Reason: Sure would be nice to drop another number off of Portland's Magic Number (currently sitting at 6) San Antonio vs. New Orleans Root For: Spurs Reason: Won't stop rooting for the Spurs until they lock up the No. 1 seed
I love this playoff chase. What a game on Sunday it's going to be. And I'll get to watch it on KGW. A little sad, though, because I missed going to the game by .2 in the prediction thread. Gah! Ah well, I'll be watching it and hoping for a win.
This draft is vastly overrated tbh. Lot of solid role players but I don't see anyone who will make much of a difference. As an NBA fan IH ope Parker, Wiggins, Embiid, and co stay in college another year to develop their game. Only NBA-ready player I see is Randle.
Sunday March 30th, 2014 Games To Watch (Games Updated Throughout Comments)- Portland vs. Memphis Root For: Trail Blazers Reason: We still won't have the tie-breaker over the Grizz, but a win would give Portland a three-game lead in the loss column over Memphis with just seven games to go. That type of lead would be nearly insurmountable as we have games against Sacramento, Utah, Los Angeles Lakers, and New Orleans still left to play. Oklahoma City vs. Utah Root For: Jazz Reason: Keep San Antonio No. 1. Would love to see the Thunder drop to 3rd out West. Golden State vs. New York Root For: Knicks Reason: Although we're tied in the loss column with Golden State, they still hold the tiebreaker currently. An upset by the Knicks would be huge. Phoenix @ Los Angeles Lakers Root For: Lakers Reason: Suns are on a huge winning streak and are just two back of the Blazers in the loss column. Also, a Lakers win takes another ping pong ball out of their lottery chances.
That's not what people are saying now. 2003 draft was 11 years ago and that was much better than this one. I hope they all stay in school. It would punish teams for tanking.
If they all come out, but a lot of them seem to be hesitating. Hopefully a few of them will stay put.
The Draft is always a crap shoot, it gets a lot of hype but I still say is a frickin bingo card. Look at the top 20 guys drafted last year and how many are impact players? Will Barton is further along than Meyers Leonard and Leonard was #11...Wes Mathews wasn't even drafted. Sure there are Lillards and Davis type players here and there. TRob was considered a bust his rookie season and we didn't draft him. The CBA is changing the way teams can develop.
Monday March 31st, 2014 Games To Watch (Games Updated Throughout Comments)- San Antonio vs. Indiana Root For: Spurs Reason: For reasons already stated, Portland would benefit if San Antonio held onto the top spot Los Angeles Clippers @ Minnesota Root For: Clippers Reason: Now that a 4/5 matchup with Houston seems favorable, hope the Clippers continue to win and lock up the No. 3 seed. Memphis @ Denver Root For: Nuggets Reason: A Grizzlies loss knocks the Trail Blazers' Magic Number down to four.
Repped for the awesome find, Boise. Seems like we control alot from 5 on down. Also, it shows we don't control out destiny for HCA... So, winning out isn't the only thing we have to do..
Tuesday April 1, 2014 Games To Watch (Games Updated Throughout Comments)- Portland @ Los Angeles Lakers Root For: Trail Blazers Reason: Trail Blazers can not afford to drop another against the Lakers. Houston @ Brooklyn Root For: Nets Reason: I still think it's a longshot to catch Houston for Home Court Advantage (four games back in the loss column plus the tiebreaker), but I'd like them to stay behind the Clippers. Golden State @ Dallas Root For: Mavericks Reason: Not only would a Mavericks win put two games in the loss column between Golden State and Portland it would also go a long way in helping the Blazers secure the tiebreaker over the Warriors. Portland would have to beat Golden State again in April to tie the series up but the tiebreaker would go to conference record which is beck and neck right now.
