Both are VERY good players. Both are good defenders, but I think The Matrix is a bit quicker and a better scorer as well.I'd take Marion.
I would take Kirilenko, most versitle player in basketball, Marion is also versitle, but Kirilenko does so much that Marion doesn't. If Kirilenko didnt pass like Marion, he would average 20ppg. Thats not a knock on Marion cause hes supposed to score, but IMO, Kirilenko is the better player.
It's Shawn Marion. Shawn Marion is one of the most effcient scorers in basketball. He doesn't have plays designed for him, he just takes what he can get, he hits some three's, he hits a nice percentage from midrange and can take you inside and score. He gets a lot of points from tipin's. I just love the guy on offense. He always seems to get his 20ppg, he's been doing it since he came into the league. Marion is one of the leagues better defenders as well. He gets a ton of rebounds, nearly got 12 a game last season playing out of position at PF. He gets a lot of blocks and steals. He's one of the leagues more athletic players and is pretty quick. He's very undersized at PF at 6'7" 215 pounds but uses his speed, quick leap and smarts to outwit bigger guys. I just like everything about him, he gives it his all on the court and maximizes his talents. And Kirilenko... I think he's the better defender, he just locks onto with his long arms and you can't get away. One of the most amazing shotblockers I've ever seen, he has VERY rare instincts when it comes to blocking. He's a very good rebounder and stealer like Marion. But offense is the difference. He just has not developed a consistant offensive game, doesn't have a consistant jumper...And it seems like he's always getting injured.
Marion isn't as great of an offensive player as many people think. Most of his points come off of passes/great spreading of floor by Suns. He is not a very good isolation type scorer, and cannot take over a game like a Kobe/Wade/T-Mac/Bron/Pierce/AI/GA can. He has never done much when pressure turns up in playoffs, and is just a bit overrated on offense. With that said, I still take Marion...ONLY for the fact that Kirileinko still isn't proven due to an assortment of injuries in past few years. When both are healthy, I feel AK-47 is the better defender due to his size and length, and offensively Marion isn't too far ahead of him.
