    A majority of this lineup is flat out not hitting and the infield defense is friggin horrible.

    Yeah I feel the same exact way. Ellsbury is doing great but McCann and Beltran look horrible.

    After $400M+ of spending this off-season, this team still has significant holes. Not ready to say they are the 013 Yankees yet, but aside from Ellsbury - have not seen much from either Beltran or McCann.

    Think of where they might be if Solarte weren't out there kicking in. Once McCann, Beltran, and Soriano start zeroing in things will get better.

    I'm not going to start worrying until we're 30 games or so into the season.

    ^^^this also...at least 30 games. Solarte is not going to finish the season at .458...Roberts, McCann, Beltran, and Soriano are not going to finish below .200... Fielder is not going to finish at .182 ...Boston is not going to lose 100 games, etc.

    In fact here are some more early season slow starters and fast starters;

    ...but if people want to wring their hands after one week you can't stop them.

    3 in the bottom 40 (30, 31, & 39) and 2 in the top 40 (4 and 12)... seems fairly even... I'd give it another few weeks before I start having despair...

    I agree, I mean batting averages can change over night at this time of the season. For example Solarte is currently batting 458. But if he goes 0-5 tonight his average drops almost 80 points to 379. By the same token McCann is currently hitting 172. If he goes 3 for 4 tonight his average jumps 70 points to 242 All this in only 1 game.

    Let these guys get a solid 100-150 ABs under there belts before you start to show concern. JMO.
