    Tore a ligament in his thumb sliding head first into first base. Can somebody please explain to me why these brain dead players continue to do that? It has been proven you get to first fast by staying on your feet.

    They showed video of that on Quit Pitch this am of Hamilton doing that head first slide in a game played yesterday. Looks macho but ends up a very stupid thing to do.

    There is maybe 1 in a100 times that head first into 1B is the best choice, the other 99....stay on your feet and run through the bag.

    It's enough to drive you to drink. Hopefully not for Hamilton though. All kidding aside it really makes no sense. And if I'm the manager "NEW RULE, anyone sliding into 1st base will be fined".
