It's one of those fads that are in now, and the hitters refuse to go the other way and what makes it even worse is that the pitchers pitch outside to the hitters they have the shift on.
You would think that with this shift thing becoming an epidemic that more coaches would get on there players to start going the other way.
...^^^ because they pitch him inside, and when they don't he has gone the other way at times this year.
So now ESPN is saying that the genius behind the shift is to mitigate Jeter's lack of range. Anyone see this...lol!
You're talking about Girardi, he's not going to insist anything of Teixeira the same way he never got on Cano for his jogs to 1st base. What I will say in defense of Long who I've also had my problems with is that he now has McCann going to the left against the shift & doing it with much success. Its good to see. But it takes work that Tex just doesn't seem to want to do.
