Dump, once again you are lost. I swear you choose to read something that really isn't there.

Where did I knock the trade. For christs sake read what I wrote please. And AGAIN I just wrote I would still make the deal, but this season it did not work out great for us when looking at Nash up against Dubi and AA, that's just reality.

And I will tell you something else, if Nash lays another egg in these playoffs then simply put it would be a bad deal so far. The dude has got to play well in these playoffs to justify his huge cap hit and hype. A 23-24 goal pace over 82 games this season outside of his hot streak, and another terrible playoffs, simply won't cut it.

Now I expect him to play well against Philly, but he needs to actually do it. We'll see.

One other thing that concerns me right now, and if people disagree please tell me, is the fancy BS is back. Again, maybe it is me, but the past few weeks this team has appeared to get more and more fancy and pass up good quality scoring chances to make another pass to a player that if everything was perfect would lead to a slightly better scoring chance, but we just passed up a good quality chance anyway.

Has anyone else noticed this happening a lot recently or am I way off here and being overly critical?

I've noticed that too. They seem to overpass when they have a clear shot.

It is what fans do Al. When the player is on your team he is going to be great. When he gets dealt he is a scrub. Dubi scored 16 goals and had 50 points this season, that is a solid player. Dubi has always been a solid player. I think many, me included, expected more, but he is solid. There was the issue with the money, which also led to Cally being moved, but he is a top 9 solid forward. Also wears an A for the BJ's.

It is frustrating Step. If I were AV I would be in their ear telling them get pucks on net guys. That goes double against a team like the Flyers. Please don't get fancy against them. Work hard, crowd the net, and get pucks on net when you can. That is how you beat the Flyers IMO. Make Mason have to make saves. We'll see if he can under playoff pressure.

Yes Chuck but most fans wont blow a guy than call him a moron or lazy or what ever.
The kid had a bad season.
The kid is making a little...not tons...but a little more than what he should be slated for.
The kid was also screwed with his RFAcontract

EL contracts are EL contracts, that is how the game works. I don't get caught up in that stuff.

Dubi wanted money, he got the money, the Rangers had to move on. Is what it is. No harm no foul. Dubi should be in the 3's cap wise IMO. He certainly has a role on a good team. He is a 2nd/3rd line forward. No shame there.

I am happy he is doing well with the CBJ. And I have no issue saying he played well this season. 50 points is solid. He is a leader there. Good for him.

I still think Philly is a very good team. I know a lot in here don't like them so we don't give them full credit, but I do truly believe they are a very good team.

If Mason plays solid against us that will not be an easy series. I think it is a 100% tossup series. Truth be told I think Philly is a little better team from top to bottom, especially in the playoffs with their toughness, but we have Hank and home ice, so that makes it a total tossup.

I am saying us in 7, but again it can go either way...I really feel that way. Will NOT be an easy series.

One huge difference is Steve Mason....0-4 record in the playoffs...and that was back in 08-09

Agreed, that is the key. If Mason is solid it will be a very tough series. Mason is the key for them I believe. If he let's in a few soft goals edge to us no doubt.

He has played really well this season though. And I am not too caught up with what he did in the playoffs for a very overmatched team 5 years ago. Clean slate for him...we'll see what he does. He's the key. The Flyers actually have a decent D this season, and are very deep upfront, so it comes down to Mason.

Mason just left the game after the 2nd with an upper body injury, will not return. Emery in right now.

Something to keep an eye on...

    I hope so also Al...:).

I really do want to win this series. I hate the Flyers. I work with a lot of guys from Philly, so bragging rights are on the line.

Many hate the Devs and Isles in here, I hate the Flyers and Pens more.

Saw that Prod. Certainly something to keep an eye on, but with 5 days until game 1 most likely he will be good to go. We'll see.

Now it is officially the Flyers. Let the games begin in 5 days...LOL. I saw this series coming for weeks, as did most. Going to be a huge battle. We need to be ready to be physical. Their game plan will be to pound us. We have to be ready to pound them and battle back. That is huge. You know the Flyers will say pound on their D, pund on MSL/MZA/Nash and they will wilt and won't return the physical play. We must be ready to play physical from start to finish. And no fancy BS. Get pucks on net and make Mason make saves.

And just like that...the Pens scored, so not official yet. Flyers still may need a win (or a point) over the Canes.

I was just coming on to post about the Flyer win when the Pens tied it.

I should have known better than to trust a Flyer goalie with a lead haha
