Well ...........it is the Flappin Flyers. They want the Rangers.
And they got 'em. Hartnell & Co. are just 'gonna have fun'......
at the expense of my team. I just wish we were bigger against their
    bullies.

I agree Prod. I really do not like the Pens this season. I predict right now that barring some kind of injury, the Rangers/Flyers winner beats the Pens in round 2.

I would say the Pens can lose in round 1, but they owned the BJ's this season, 5-0 against them, and if the BJ's win in Florida tonight they get the 7 spot and play the Pens in round 1. So most likely it is BJ's and Pens.

I will take the Pens in a tough series, but the winner of our series beats the Pens in round 2 I believe.

Let's go Rangers...PLEASE beat the Flyers. Rangers in 7.

If it ends up being Wings/Pens I'm taking the Wings in that series. As it stands now though, Pitt over CBJ

We agree again 100% Prod. That is why I have been rooting for the Wings to get 7th because I truly think they can/will beat the Pens.

For that to happen though the BJ's need to lose at Florida tonight (and the Wings would still need a point at the Blues tomorrow since the BJ's have the TB). Unlikely, but possible I guess. You have to think the BJ's will try and win tonight knowing they would clinch the Pens instead of the Bruins in round 1.

BTW...crazy we haven't played the Flyers in the playoffs since 97. 17 years is a long time. We haven't beaten them in a series since 86. Wow.

Rangers Flyers is set...Rangers home ice.
Habs and TB is set...home ice still TBD (TB has the inside track right now as they control their own destiny).
The other two are not set yet. If the BJ's win at the Panthers tonight, they clinch 7 and play the Pens. If the BJ's get beat tonight, then the Wings need a point tomorrow at the Blues to get the 7 spot and the Pens.

CBJ tied 2-2 in the 2nd. If they lose the Wings need 1 point tomorrow at the Blues to get the 7 spot and the Pens.

BTW...if the playoff format didn't change this would be a playoff preview as we'd play the Habs and open in Montreal as the 5 seed.

    East matchups set now:

    Boston plays Detroit
    Pitt plays CBJ
    Rangers play Flyers
TB and the Habs play. Home ice still TBD. TB controls their own destiny.

I really wanted the Wings to play the Pens, but oh well.

TB gets 2 points at the Caps tomorrow, they get home ice. They get 1 or 0 points tomorrow, the Habs get home ice.

The West is going to have some awesome 1st round matchups.

The Blues continue to fall apart. If they lose to the Wings today they will play the Hawks in round 1. The West fav as of two weeks ago against the defending champs...great series.

And the Kings play the Sharks, opening in SJ. That is another great matchup of two legit SC threats.

And BTW...if the Avs win the division, and they do with a Blues loss or an Avs win tonight, and play the Wild...I think the Wild will make that a long tough series for the Avs. If the Wild get solid goaltending, and they may not, they have a legit shot in that series IMO.

    Boston in 6
    Rangers in 7
    CBJ in 7
    TB in 7

    Rangers over CBJ in 7
    Boston over TB in 5

Boston over Rangers in 6 Rangers lose the 1st rounder

The West is too hard to call

    Boston in 5.
Rangers in 7 (but total coin flip IMO).
Pens in 7 (just don't trust the BJ's enough after 0-5 against the Pens this season).
Home ice team wins in 7 between Montreal and TB.

Hawks in 7 (assuming Toews and Kane are healthy for game 1).
Avs in 7 over the Wild.
Ducks in 5 over the Stars.
Kings in 6 over the Sharks.

Rangers over the Pens in 6.
Bruins over the other winner in 6.

Hawks over the Avs in 6.
Ducks over the Kings in 7 (VERY tough series for me...I like 1 of these 2 teams to make the SCF from the West).

Bruins over the Rangers in 6.
Ducks over the Hawks in 7.

Bruins over the Ducks in 6.

I'll tell you something else, a lot of people will pick Philly to beat us. Watch that happen. They have better SC odds than we do. You will see a lot of "experts" pick Philly to beat us. I predict that right now.

Doesn't mean much, but none the less, it is what I expect.

And if we make the ECF, I am fine with giving up that 1st. Means MSL played well. Means we are looking forward to a great season next year. And means our pick will be very low in the 1st round, like 27th or 28th.

but that would mean 2 first round picks and that is a lot imo...no 2014 and no 2015..i would only agree if we win the cup and St Louis was the Conn Smyth. This was a trade for a guy who only gave the Ning one option and that was NY.

if Bishop can't play I think MTL cruises in 5 maybe 6. Lindback is not the answer. Will be interesting to see if Gudlevskis gets a start in that series (goalie from the Latvian team who almost beat Canada by himself)

True Al, but remember, just because a guy asks for a trade doesnt mean he has to be traded. Kelser asked out and the GM didnt trade him. True, the guy is now fired haha but the fact remains.

Another factor in that trade was that Callahan's ridiculous, absurd demands were common knowledge. He was therefore strictly a rental for TB as they knew at the time they wont pay him that. What do rentals usually bring back? Picks and prospects. If we wanted to get a top 6 forward for a rental we had to sweeten the pot with something. I'm fine with that trade.
