We all know about the top NBA ballhogs. (Mike James, Steve Francis...etc...) But I think their are a lot of NBA players that are terrible ballhogs and they don't get called out. I want everyone to post at least one. One guy I notice is Ron Artest. You usually don't think of this guy as a ballhog. One thing with Artest is that he never lets the offense come to him, he's usually not in the offensive flow. I watched him twice in the preseason and a little bit last night as well as a handfull of games last season. Ron shoots way too many threepointers and it hurts the teams offense...He's really turned into a chucker. Last night was another example. 6/24 shooting including 0/4 from three. Ugh. Come on Ron.

First of all, give Artest credit. He got 7 steals and 12 boards last night too.But I will completely agree. Every time I look at a Kings box score, it seems Ron Artest shoots 30% from the floor. Plus he even brings the ball up sometimes, even when Mike Bibby is in the game. But I'll follow the rules and add one: Chris Webber. In Sacramento he played within the team. But now, he still wants to take as many shots as he did 6 years ago, and he's bricking everything with that god-awful mid-range shot of his. Philly fans definitely call him out, but nobody else does. Analysts even give him the benefit of the doubt (except for Stephen A. Smith, who I definitely respect for always telling it how it is). He needs to accept the fact that he's getting old and on the decline, and give some of those shots to other guys like Iggy, Korver, Carney, and Green.

Stackhouse. The guy doesn't know that he needs to share the wealth and his best game has passed. Still he shoots at least 10 shots a game despite that. Always shoots around 40%. Also he turns the ball over a lot.

Chris Webber for sure. 19 shots per game... ouch.

He only took 15 shots, and was only player who got teammates open looks and making baskets against Chicago.I'd have to say Antoine Walker. He makes some pretty passes, but most of the time when the ball goes to him it's going right back up.

Consider Walker's NBA career from the start. When he first came to Boston, he was forced to dominate the ball. Then he got a new coach in Jim O'Brien who TOLD Toine to shoot 3's. That ruined him, IMO. And you have to admit that Walker has become a smarter player in Miami (and he's also whipped himself into excellent shape).OF course I'm going to defend Toine, but when he was a "ballhog" in Boston, consier his supporting cast. Paul Pierce... Tony Delk, Walter McCarty, Tony Battie, Erick Strickland, Eric Williams, Vitaly Potapenko, Kedrick Brown.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Are you serious?</div> Yes, I expect some games from Wade where he will look for his shot rather then look for the pass. From your response, it fits the topic pretty well. No need to name guys we already know ballhog.

Ron Artest likes to run the ball, so it SEEMS hes a ball hog, but he isnt. He does run the team pretty nice too.

When I think ballhog, I think taking forced shots that were unnecasary, not hitting open teammates, etc... Wade is one of the most unselfish superstars you will find, takes less than 20 shots per game (I expect that to rise a bit this year, but not by much) and always looks to get teammates involved first. When they show they cannot perform well enough to win, then he takes over, ala NBA Finals or against Detroit during the season.

ricky davis, sometimes. it's not so much that he always shoots too much, it's just that he has to have the ball in his hands. he dribbles way too much, tries to make plays that he can't and can force some shots.

<span style="font-family:Book Antiqua">Eh... Jerry Stackhouse and Antoine Walker are both ballhogs from what I saw in the 2006 Finals. They hardly passed the ball. Both players took random shots, too.</span>

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>and always looks to get teammates involved first.</div> I disagree with that. He's a scorer first imo, not a pass first guard. His getting teammates involved are usually drive and kicks. So he's holding the ball quite a bit, plus I think following his increased in skills/performance from the Finals. We'll see an increase in Wade forcing shots because like you said, his teammates may not be up to task that night.

People only had to watch out really for AI/Webber puts extra pressure on them.I agree with person who said Walker LMAO that dude just chucked them up like crazy from 3 in Boston. lol But he did make a lot also. lol

I have heard Stack and Walker get called out tons of times for being ballhogs. I seriously can't believe you people think they never get called out.
