I'll take Yao for now. Dwight is the better rebounder, and im pretty sure he's the better shotblocker too. But hey, Yao gets 22 and 10, whereas Dwight got like 16-17 points. That is a pretty big difference. Yao is the better low post scorer. He just dominates in the post now. Yao's height allows him to challenge shots, and effect the other players offensively. So I guess you could call that good D.For the future, I'll have to say Dwight. He's just too talented, and still very, very young. Isnt he only 20, or 21? He's already a freak on both ends. He'll be the best PF in the League in 5 more years.
For me this is a no brainner specially after watching Howard at the end of last season and last night. Howard is the better defender, rebounder, scorer of the two, and not too mention that he is by far more athletic and younger than Yao. Howard is an electrifying player who can consistantly score 18 points and grab 13 rebounds along with 2 blocks, and makes his precense shown. In the other hand is a 20 point a game guy, who grabs 10 rebounds with 1.5 block, very similar numbers on paper, but in the game they are complete opposites. Howard impacts his team greatly and leads hsi team to victory, while Yao is laid back and a very passibe player who does not have a great impact. Very often he is stopped by guys who are no where as tall and strong as him, which always is discouraging for Rocket fans such as myself. Was in not for Tmac, Yao woudl never score as much as he does since Tmac draws defenders away from Yao, and sinec about 1/4 of Yaos points come from Tracy's passes.
It was easily Yao before to me but I think Howard this year will show that he's better. They are close on D but I'll give the edge to Howard there. He's just a quicker and more athletic player. The only thing Yao beats him in is points and Howard will average 18 or 19 so that's pretty good.
^ hell yeah I saw that, Wallace is becoming superstar in thsi league and a force to be rekon with. Also that block eh had on Gordon was just great. Howard has a bright future ahead of him
I take Howard because of the passion he plays with. How a 7'5" player dissapears at times is still beyond me. Howard now and for the future. He has shown he has the work ethic to reach great levels in this league. He is a star now and has yet to reach half of his full potential. Can't wait to see more of him.
