My pick:Jason RichardsonJ-Rich is a consistent scorer and a better shooter than RJ. Arguably better D than him. RJ is the better foul shooter both are very explozive.
No contest in my mind, Richard Jefferson. Jefferson's a winner, he's a professional, he's more fundamental, he's a much better defender. I would much rather have him on my team.
J-rich by far!Richardson is a all star player, Jefferson is a good player tho he can do alot to help his team. But I would rather have Richardson.

Im taking J-Rich. RJ is the better defender, and the better rebounder, but J-Rich is just a dynamic scorer who can score at will. He is just on another level offensively than RJ, so that's why Im picking him.

Jason Richardson gives you 22ppg and during the year Jefferson had to take over the offense he averaged 22ppg as well. They are not on different levels on offense.
Jefferson. I have to say, as a Celtics fan, he is one of the few players on the Nets that I enjoy watching. Really dynamic and exciting scorer. Solid defender and rebounder. He runs the floor very well too, and is an underrated passer. He's one of the more underrated players in the NBA because of Kidd and Carter shadowing him on the Nets.
Jrich by a small margin. He is not only the better athlete, but arguably the best dunker in the NBA. Altough they put up similar numbers there is a major distinction between them both. One is consistent and the other one is not, and in adittion RJ has Jason Kidd a great passer and and a great decision maker. Jrich instead has a talented PG playing along him, but he does not make the right decision everytime. Furthermore, shotting wise Jrich has an advantage over RJ, Jrich is decent from the 3 point line and makes tehm consistantly, while Jefferson struggles somewhats and is a better streaky shooter. The one thing that Jefferson si better than Jrich at is D. Jrich si by far a very underrated defender. He constantly guards soem of the best scorers in the league such as Kobe, Tmac, Wade and Lebron and usually does a solid job in mantaining them. If his offense was more developed I would give him the upper hand.

I don't see why you think Richardson has an edge. Jefferson's one of the most underrated athletes in the NBA. Jason Richardson is not a good defender at all. He guards the best SG's on his team because who else will? Mike Dunleavy? He doesn't have defensive toughness and whenever I watch him it's as if he's just going through the motions.
He scored 23 ppg last year, and I expect him to score like 24-25 now with an offensive coach like Don Nelson behind him.. He's improved his ppg every year of his career. And Jefferson averaged 19.5 ppg last year so I wont take his 22 ppg into account. He took alot more shots that year, evidenced by his 42 fg% compared to his 49% last year. He was their only scoring threat until Vince came, so he was able to take alot more shots than usual.

Who cares if Richardson's scoring average keeps going up a little bit each season. Richard Jefferson has shown he can average over 20ppg. Add that to his better defense and passing and it's obvious who the better player is. With Baron Davis healthy, Monta Ellis taking shots I don't expect Jason's scoring to go up this season, if anything maybe drop a bit.
No, how about you throw that out the window, because you were the one who first mentioned that 22 ppg season. So there you go. RJ is a 19 ppg scorer, whereas J-Rich is a 23-24 ppg scorer. So I was right in saying that Richardson is on another scoring level than RJ. I'd take RIchardson. He has a ton of star power in him, he can get very hot and give you 30 ppg games, and he is a great slasher/shooter.

And he's not. Richard Jefferson could easily average 22ppg if Vince Carter were not playing on the Nets. When Carters not played Jefferson always steps up his play as well as his scoring average. Almost any good NBA SG can give you a 30 point game. He's not a great shooter. He's a great slasher but an average shooter over his career. So Richardson's 3 more ppg (there are circumstances which keep Jefferson from scoring as much as he could) give him the edge even though Jefferson's a better passer/defender?

VC is the reason why RJ isn't posting 22 a night. If J-Rich were to play with VC, too, he'd probably average less than RJ currently does. Basically, I may seem as though I'm being biased here, but truth is, I'd pick Richard Jefferson because he's proven his worth by helping my team win Atlantic Division titles year in and year out.Anyway, RJ is equally explosive as J-Rich. Only difference is that when RJ gets fouled during his explosive moments, he actually hits the foul shots.</span>
