BOXSCORES/STATS My vote has to go to Paul Pierce. They may have lost but it was close and Pierce played Excellent with 29 points and 19 Rebounds. Thats alot for player with that hieght some players inches taller than him cannot do that so major props there.
As much as I love Pierce, I disagree. The 29 points and 19 boards looks great, but these are the stats that mattered the most:- 7-15 from the FT line (terrible)- 2-8 from 3- We lost on Red Auerbach night (what a friggen disgrace)My vote goes to Jason Kidd. He did everything and racked up a triple-double, and they got the win.

WOW!!!
Gay's already mentioned in the rookie watch thread, QRich I didn't care about, but he should be up there, and why would anyone put warrick?
Another notable is T-Mac with 25/9/5! Yes he shot horribly, but still...Now that I got my homer pick out of the way, I'd go with Dwight. He was a fricking monster, and they beat the team that destroyed the champs on opening night.
Michael Redd scored 37, and Q Rich had 31 and 9, but Im going with Pierce. 29 and 19 is just unbelievable for a swingman.
I'm going with Okafor.. double double with SIX blocks. SIX is amazing.Pierce also had a great line, Brand, Kidd, Hughes too.
I am going to have to go with Michael Redd. He owned the so called "good" perimeter defenders of Detroit. Chauncey, Rip, and Tayshaun could not stop him.
Jason Kidd was insane. He dropped a triple-double. He's now only two shy from reaching Wilt Chamberlain's career triple-double stats.Anyway, Paul Pierce's 29 and 19 was unbelievable, but JKidd was more impressive. I mean, you get used to seeing JKidd do triple-doubles after a while, but that doesn't mean that they are not amazing.
I'm sorry but there's a reason that having seventy-something triple-doubles in your CAREER is an amazing feat (as in, J-Kidd), because they are friggin amazing. Kidd contributed overall in getting rebounds, setting up his teammates, and added to the scoring total. It's just an overall display of talent that can't be ignored.Pierce gets a close second for his rebounding, but the problem with that is that it's showing us that yet again Paul Pierce has NO ONE on his team doing anything. He led his team in rebounding, assists, AND scoring last year, not a good position.
