Re: Doc will use last night's lineup a lot This is want Rivers said in the Boston Herald about our starting lineup against the Hornets: <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>It makes them react to us, he said. Of course, it doesn't work unless you execute, and I thought our execution was horrible. I thought Sebastian and Delonte were running at the ball together. They haven't done that all week. Once the execution broke down, that's when I went with Ryan and went bigger. We're going to use (last night's lineup) a lot. Not every night, but we're going to use that a lot.</div> I know we already have 2 Doc Rivers threads, but WHAT THE MOTHERFUCK!?!?!!? Are you serious Doc? We did not run well last night at all, you serious? And a prime example of why starting Delonte is bad is that preseason game vs. New Jersey. Vince Carter got the ball on the block, murdered Delonte, and after the bucket he looked at Jason Kidd and they both smiled. Delonte is a good player and a tough defender, but he's about 6'3'' - he's not going to defend 6'6''-6'8'' wings (who are stronger) well at all! Then what happens when we play Detroit, Charlotte, Utah, Indiana, Orlando, Portland, Milwaukee, Minnesota, both LA teams, Dallas, San Antonio, Chicago, Denver, Toronto, Philly? Are you going to see how Paul Pierce faires against Sheed, Okafor, Boozer, JO, Howard, Randolph, Villanueva/Bogut, KG, Brand, Odom, Dirk, Duncan, PJ Brown, K-Mart/Nene, Bosh, and Webber? You have to be friggen joking. And Delonte would cause mismatch problems (in the other team's favor) 9 out of 10 times if you start him at the 2. Everybody who agrees that Doc should have his right leg and left nut removed, say I! Also, join my club in my sig if you agree. :ranting: EDIT: I hope we go 0-15 to start so management forces Danny to fire Doc.
Re: Doc will use last night's lineup a lot IThis lineup did really suck. Having two Point guards at once (Telfair & West) Why would you have West on Peja in the first place? Look at the height range. They need Jefferson starting.
Re: Doc will use last night's lineup a lot If he thinks it will work, I gotta believe him. Doc is a good coach.
Re: Doc will use last night's lineup a lot if al didn't command a starting spot yesterday, doc deserves to be fired. this is good for pierce's rebounding numbers, bad for the withl.
Re: Doc will use last night's lineup a lot When they announced the starting lineups I was hoping Delonte was starting at the point, then they annouced Telfair too, stupid. I mean I understand what they are trying to do but it's just not gonna work.
Re: Doc will use last night's lineup a lot
I This lineup did really suck. Having two Point guards at once (Telfair & West) Why would you have West on Peja in the first place? Look at the height range. They need Jefferson starting.
Delonte West is a natural SG man. I have no problem with him playing the 2, he's more effective at SG off the bench. BUT, having him on Peja late in the game is what I mean by Doc has stupid late game rotations. :HAHAHA: You havn't learned anything if you still have faith in Doc Rivers as a coach. This is coming from a guy who has given him the benefit of the doubt from 2004 until the end of last year. Well, as high as I am on Big Al, and as good as he's been in the past 3 weeks, Gomes still needs to start... for now. By midseason, if Al Jefferson doesn't win the starting position we have problems. But as of right now, Gomes is much more solid and reliable. I say give Al a little more time to see how he does against more than just Tyson Chandler (who is a good shot blocker). Yeah. Again, Delonte should be playing the 2, it's his natural position. But he should not start at the 2. Starting 2's are very talented and much bigger/stronger than West. Delonte off the bench at the 2 is awesome though, no complaints. That was SUPPOSED to be how it was too, but Doc decided to "try something new." Ugh.
